As I said above, click that guy's guide and scroll to the bottom. If you want ALL DLC without buying duplicates....

Deluxe + 4 season passes + Character: Nyotengu + 7 specific costume sets. Which will cost you $232.07 right now.

If you just want the game and all the characters, and don't care about all the costumes and extras, you can get that for $33.92

What if i already have Core Fighters? Will buying the base game get me the rest of the roster, or will i need to remove it from my library and THEN buy it?

Haven't bought anything myself yet, not sure if I will, but thought I'd point this out for those interested. Following his guide, you'll see there's only 13 items you need to buy to get everything (the season passes have dozens of individual DLC included in each of them).

This doesn't answer my question. I have Core Fighters already, but am able to by the "base" version for 11.99. I'm asking if i'll get the content in that base version or if it'll be a wasted purchase and i should remove the free one from my account beforehand.

Edit: for context, on the checkout page, it says underneath "you will not get an extra copy of Dead or Alive 6" even though i've only got the Core Fighters edition. I'm wondering if this replaces core fighters, or if i should remove core fighters before i buy this.

You "own" the base free version of the game that comes with like three fighters and no features. So when you buy the other versions it's picking up on that free version and saying you won't get that free version again.

This normally only happens with paid products. But you don't need to remove it or do anything special.

I had Core Fighters as well and bought the base game for $11.99. It acts as an unlock key, unlocking all the base characters and story content so there's no additional download.

Its pretty sus when you have Raidoucyber, Marie Rose, and Honoka as day one characters when they were dlcs in doa5U.

Yeah, not even close. They'd have never gone mainstream if Publishers didn't keep trying to cater to the casual player by changing the rules for them.

This is on publishers wanting simpler games to have more thriving playerbases in a genre that always sees drought due to poor player retention, because the modern mainstream gamer is a social media addled nimrod that can't play anything with any sort of patience and constantly wants a dopamine hit or they get bored.

You're blaming the wrong group here for this problem. The companies nickel and dime casuals because they MADE gaming mainstream, and this is not exclusive to fighting games either. Evo just produces tournaments far as i know, so what impact do THEY have on game publishers dumbing down their products and grinding the consumer's wallets?
