How do you run it on Steam Deck?!

Hi,

I've read numerous people running it on Deck here but no matter which config, I get a black screen and not only this, Deck freezes that Steam overlay cannot "Exit" it and I have to restart the Deck.

I've tried all Proton and GE-Proton versions I have installed, including latest.

i can run it on both my Steam Deck and PC, but the controller doesn't work properly at all
on my PC, the xbox one controller does absolutely nothing. In fact, "A" and "B" make the character move, and that's it. You can't do anything else.

The game seems to default to using the keyboard, with mouse 1 being knife and mouse 2 being diagonal whip? and space bar jump and A and D for left and right.

I remember a few years ago this game ran fine with an Xbox One controller. What happened since then?
