Looking back and wondering
I remember when people were scared it would feel too much like a Company of Hero's mod, only to come out and people to wish it felt more like a Company of Hero's mod lol. I think the biggest issue with the game is how Infantry work. Besides the base Infantry and the Exos, they're all the same with no difference between. If they ever make a second game I hope the Infantry feel as different as the mechs do. The mechs in this were fun, though they had their own issues at points too. There was also the skins, I honestly thought they would be full color changes to your entire faction. But they felt lackluster to me.

I still enjoy the game and the story (for what it was) wasn't bad at all. I HATE the Russian DLC because the ending really was just awful "Listen I go in here to speak to people" *Goes in, you last against waves, only to have the main bad speak* "Oh no, he's dead, lets leave and not enter the radio station to find him and make sure". The maps were fun and nothing was more fun than seeing a fight come together. But the game really was more simple than I was expecting.

I also decided to delve for this post, as I made this ranting about the Infantry all the way back. I still feel like Infantry being given more depth would've helped keep more players on board longer. I just played this after a long time between plays, first it loads faster than some, the UI is well done everything meshes, it looks good easy to read and so many options, I am like why am I not playing this more, and in a skirmish mode set it up with a 15 minute time limit, and was having fun forgot about the time and lost the match in a 2 vs 2 coastal city map.
LIke mmmm this is like quite good, the only thing I wish I suppose if u had a chance to start a battle with a force on the field of the battle in stead of building one up but yeah this game is good.
Infantry can be improved, my guys found a weapons crate and and engineers upgrade to riflemen and infantry become machine gunners, and we dodged a grenade, ha ha ..we,,
oh and my new found machine gunners held off a sky bike then hit the r key and they ran back to base, the long way but they did make it.

So yeah just finished playing right now and saw your post cuz had to check the discussion page right lol anyway nice post

That's the thing, I still play time to time and have lots of fun. But it always feels like something is missing. I honestly stick to my guns and say that a big issue was just how second hand Inf felt. Some of my fav moments have been taking the Saxony exos and marching them to a fortified position backed by a Grimbart and SMG infantry. While I have the arty unit (forgot it's name) flare and fire on the position. There's still fun to be had and I don''t believe the devs were being lazy or something, like I've seen others (in the past) say

The game feels clunky and unfinished, i played through all the campaigns on hardest difficulty, and experienced every single bottleneck the game has, from infantry being useless, to most mechs being clunky and janky to control, to path finding being crap, most of the time being responsible for several loses, to units not having line of sight on things right in front of them, to towering mechs losing line of sight due to a small scrap being in the way, in the campaign in particular, several moments where enemies just spawn from nowhere, to cover being useless, and several more other points. The game was basically steampunk CoH, but worse.
