STATE OF THE GAME
tdlr: Iron Harvest hasn't been abandonned, we'll still have seasonal quests and rewards. While there will be no new updates, we are working on new projects within the world of 1920+

Remember Iron Harvest’s release was over 3 years ago! We continue to be amazed by how far we’ve come and all the support you mech commanders have shown us over the years. Some of you are still with us since our announcement in 2016! We love that players keep asking for more, always a good sign :)

During these last 3 years, we released a ton of free content and are proud to be among the top rated modern RTS games currently out there. We are esepcially proud of our single player campaign. Iron Harvest will continue to receive ongoing support with new seasons and cool rewards. Although, no new updates or factions are currently planned.

With the success, and lessons learn't, from Iron Harvest we have the momentum to work on new awesome projects. There is nothing we can announce right now, but we are convinced that you’ll love our new games. We really can’t wait to see your reactions, but please be patient.

Thanks again fo all the support and RTS love

I think I speak for everyone when I say the reason we feel the game is abandoned isn't the lack of seasonal events or game support. And there isn't a lack.

The reason is that the story has been left so open. The fight against Fenris was just getting started but then it was left on the Rusviet Revolution. Unless you're saving it for a sequel, it seems odd that you would end the story with still so much expected.

And it's not like you don't have anything to work with. You still have the Nordic Kingdoms, Crimean Khanate, Albion, Towgawa and Franco. An you only have to look to the fan art for a sea of mech ideas. I once saw someone design an entire line of Albion mechs.
And as I said there is still so much of the main story line to explore.

I'm NOT asking you to get to work right away and crank something out as soon as possible. In fact that what I think is wrong with the modern entertainment industry. If you want to take your time, I would much rather wait years for a timeless classic then months for a so-so story. Just please remember what it is we really want.

Even if "development isnt dead" the game's community its pretty much dead, not a lot of people playing, even less being active in the community tab.

So its abandonned then.

Hopefully your new game improves upon this game.

More indepth base building and defense like classic RTS games...

Like Tempest Rising.

When I replied to the topic, I meant it as some gentle encouragement for the devs to continue the story. I didn't think it would bring out the pessimists.

Since a lot of players have mentioned bugs, such as with the AI - is it at least possible that a patch fixing the most mentioned bugs will be released? Or if nothing else, would fans at least be able to release a fanmade patch in the Steam Workshop?

"We'll still have seasonal quests and rewards. While there will be no new updates" so essentially abandoned. No bugfixes are promised, no balance changes are promised, nothing but seasonal rewards which 1) can easily not work from my experience or can be done wrong 2) provides nothing but recolor skin and name tags. Not even any model-related skin - just a differently colored texture.

In COH2, the Devs, even though they were no longer developing the game, allowed community patches to improve the balance, for example, and updated the game files with the help of the community.

Your game is fun, but you never added a map editor. An RTS without a map editor was doomed to die. Community maps keep games alive and keep interest up.

Yup game is pretty much dead now. If the average peak of players is close to 130 in month, that's really really bad..

i want map creator!!

How about fixing the bugs so that the game becomes playable?
JackPot_777 4 Mar, 2024 @ 6:57pm
Please, add a map creator and a LAN mode

Can you guys atleast add Steam trading cards and some point shop items? I want some Usonia profile background.
Honestly I made a bad decision on buying this game thinking that the game was optimized or fixed long before but I was totally wrong, so frustrated on how the game runs poorly 32GB DDR4, R7 3700X OC at 4.1GHZ RT 5700XT latest driver and the game performance dips to 30-50 fps when large mechs or dozen units shows up, heck CPU and GPU are below 30% usage despite the settings from low to high no changes.

If the development is not dead then what will be the next thing for this game then? If no future patches and such it is good as dead or abandoned if the main goal is only new seasonal events and rewards which is totally pointless if you ask me.

Rather do the other way around drop the season events and rewards and focus on working for future patches to further optimize the game and utilize better hardware resources.
