I'm a bit late because I only saw the price thanks to the sale popping up on my store page. The price more than doubled in September of this game with many other games, I did some looking into it and it seems more like an automated system that just hurts people who doesn't have strong currency.

I'm not pooping on the game I'm just bringing some attention to it, I've seen other titles that had a price hike with no mention to it's communities about it. For example Hogwarts legacy and New World. Some of the titles stealthy increasing prices in some regions by more than double.

For example, my currency is ZAR, south african rand.
This game's base price was 175 rand, it is now 450 rand.
