if i remember right i think the attacks stop after the artillery is gone? might be wrong but even then itll be the same idea as the artillery.
I lost the 1st time, and won the 2nd time.
The 2nd time, I build bunkers at the choke holds (one at your base entrance to the north and two bunkers in the middle portion of the map).
Crewed them with machine gunners and made the bunkers HE explosive ones. Then, hold the line for a while until you can get a feel of them. Make sure you have Engineers to repair your bunkers.
Then build some cheaper units like Isegrims and Grimbats. Then with Brunhilde, slowly advance forward at the left most part of the map. Use infantry on the right side.
Slow advance, and surely you will win.
I've definitely noticed a difficulty spike in the campaign since maybe the final Rusviet mission.
That would be an absolute last resort. Luckily on the penultimate mission of the campaign I've not had to do that yet
Even tho I took out their base they spawn mechs.
