I've stopped playing the world map mode partly because of this. I just want to do a normal mission but it gives me bs where I can only deploy what little infantry I have and I have to go around a city and fight a bunch of flamethrowers on a time limit. Honestly... that isn't fun to me.

You can just do the auto battle button the entire time. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how the gamemode's meant to be played, I tried ONE, ONE territory battle on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level one territory but because the A.I is still extremely difficult to fight since whatever difficulty you select for the gamemode doesn't actually reflect the difficulty of the A.I (which I'm seeing that there's an update for this game but see no patch notes) so a level one territory acted like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level fifteen territory.

Yes please add the option for normal skirmish battle. I understand you tried to make it interesting but playing the same kind of specialized mission again and again is really annoying.
I love the universe and the battles in this game so much but these forced mission types really take the fun out of it.

I think secondary mission would be fine, like protect civilians or do some other specialized tasks would be fine. Also the enmy starting units could differ but please let us just use all the buildings and units the game has to offer on skirmish maps.

So far I like the idea of mission battles, it gives the campaign map a different aproach and It invites you to think better what units to bring to the battlefield.

I love this game, its really amazing honestly, and the world map mode had me so extremely hyped because every other time I've seen the world map implemented in was basically just skirmish battles on set maps across the world map and winning the skirmish battle won you the territory and any resources associated with it, when i realized that isn't how it works i figured there would be a setting or something somewhere to let me play it the way i want to, there apparently still isn't right now. just make a game mode for world map that is set for just skirmish battles, even if you have to make an entire new world map around the idea i promise you that at the very least 60 percent of your community will be pleased

Yes please. This game's world map mode with normal skirmishes instead of weird custom scenarii (most of the times unrelated with what is happening on the WM) would be a banger, and would please many single players out there, who love the IH universe and setting. I think it will never happen, since the game is not supported anymore, but the option would be amazing. At least open up modding tools so someone, out there, enables it.
