Kms. May as well just play nörmal
It's baffling there isn't an option to just do a slightly harder skirmish instead. Maybe the enemy gets reinforcements based on the mission you're skipping or something. That way you can still plan to go into the arsonist mission with full infantry army and roll over it that way, or you're punished by having to take a much harder battle because you went mechs only. But at least with a skirmish you will have agency in approach. Being forced to try do these stupid missions with sub-optimal troops for arbitrary reasons just sucks. What's the point of unlocking an awesome mech if the next 4 territories I have to go through to the enemy capital is all non-heavy mech missions.
>Playing Usonia
>Finally got Admiral Mason
>Building my Air force, ♥♥♥♥ yeah
>Can easily beat any army
>Invade
>Find out not only can I not use my new unlocked commander, but since I've primarily only built Mechs and airships (In a game called Iron Harvest, advertised as a mech game, who would have thought) I'm only left with my medic team and engineers
>Win, somehow
>Get invaded next turn
>Well, at least I'll get to defend with my fleet
>It's the same damn map
Why not have maps just be straight up skirmishes once they hit a certain defense level? I understand that not being the case early game, but it makes high level armies useless late game, even when on paper they should win. Why even restrict at all? And don't even get me started on some armies just taking your territories without even giving you the option to defend.
I am sat here thinking who made these stupid missions so dumb...
