Headscratching Plot
I played this VN on Vita and I see that I'm not the only one who found it confusing. Even the ending explanation on Reddit was a bit hard to follow. "Butterfly effect" just seems like a lazy, convoluted way to subtley explain how the Amadeus App causes timeline shifts which confused the hell out of me. Can anyone explain how Okabe jumped 25 years in the past? You're telling me he had to wake up from a basement and travel to the lab in a war-torn wasteland full of soldiers and survive nearly 3000 times? Hard to believe.

I get that there were budget cuts and this is a time travel story but while I'll give props that they tried in tying up loose ends, it was a sloppy job. If I have to look up guides and side content just to comprehend the story then something's not right. This is like Rick and Morty where I barely have enough IQ to follow what's going on. I wish I could read the untranslated ending cinematic; it doesn't tell me about Maho and Suzu being stuck 70000000 years in the past or how Okabe spends his time after leaving 2025.

Worldline convergence ensured his survival. Same as in the original Steins;Gate, Mayuri would die in the alpha worldline around certain point in time no matter what. Similarly Okabe couldn't die until certain point in time which was sometime after 2036 (He never actually dies in the story).
