At this point, we are not officially supporting the Vive Tracker for personal use.

You should really think about adding this. I would 100% jump on board on an officially licensed MLB game that supports this and I know a bunch of others who would too.

Just want to mention, the Vive tracker now works perfectly!

Hi so does this mean you managed to play the game by attaching a vive tracker to a baseball bat and using that rather than the remote? That's what I wanted but wasn't sure it would work

That's exactly what I did. Drilled a hole in the top end of a kids sponge bat and glued in a screw mount, then attached the Vive tracker to the end. Works perfectly. If for whatever reason it doesn't show up, turn off one of the controllers in SteamVR and the tracker should take over. It's so much fun now.

my bat has the tracker on the bottom (a lot safer) and works very well with VR Slugger. Does it also work with MLB?

Nope, need to be at the top. Had to move mine from bottom to top as well. It may be safer r bottom but feels more realistic on the top as it adds some extra weight. Hope it doesn't go flying off tho.

I was looking at the website for the MLB All-Star Game. They are holding a VR homerun derby[www.mlb.com] event at Fan Fest this year.

If you look at this photo[securea.mlb.com], it appears they are using HTC Vive headsets with a vive tracker mounted to the end of the barrel of a foam bat.

So when MattMacMLB stated "At this point, we are not officially supporting the Vive Tracker for personal use" pay special attention to the word "officially". The game obviously supports it but don't be bothering the developers for any technical support if you can't get it working.

I have really been interested in getting into VR specifically for baseball.

yes, I modified my bat to take the tracker both below and above, and it works. It would be almost perfect without that terrible ghost effect when shooting
