You should really think about adding this. I would 100% jump on board on an officially licensed MLB game that supports this and I know a bunch of others who would too.
Hi so does this mean you managed to play the game by attaching a vive tracker to a baseball bat and using that rather than the remote? That's what I wanted but wasn't sure it would work
That's exactly what I did. Drilled a hole in the top end of a kids sponge bat and glued in a screw mount, then attached the Vive tracker to the end. Works perfectly. If for whatever reason it doesn't show up, turn off one of the controllers in SteamVR and the tracker should take over. It's so much fun now.

If you look at this photo[securea.mlb.com], it appears they are using HTC Vive headsets with a vive tracker mounted to the end of the barrel of a foam bat.
So when MattMacMLB stated "At this point, we are not officially supporting the Vive Tracker for personal use" pay special attention to the word "officially". The game obviously supports it but don't be bothering the developers for any technical support if you can't get it working.
I have really been interested in getting into VR specifically for baseball.
