Last Rites

Is this game still releasing?
Release date was yesterday but it's not available for purchase in the UK. Would actually be interested to pick it up if it's not just running through Dosbox as getting my CD version to run is a pain.

This is a Piko Interactive release, so pretty much guaranteed to be a Dosbox situation. Hell, in the past whenever they released a game with CD soundtrack, the instructions would call for you to burn the CD from included MP3s and put it into drive while playing the game.
Also, I'd love to get a confirmation that Pico actually owns the games they put out, and don't just go around re-releasing long-abandoned games without a clear owner as their own. I don't want to accuse them of anything, it just seems that many of the games they put out were known to no longer have a clear owner (like the Bubsy series).

Atari will bring medieval on ther assets if they don't. Ocean Software IP was aquired by no one else, but a fracking Atari. And Atari is still around and isn't particulary good guys. So Piko surely have rights for this game.

Let's just wait for it, the game wasn't half bad back in the day. It was competent FPS and all, it even has true 3D engine (though still with sprites for guns and enemies).

I mean they could release it only if Atari allowed them (since Ocean Software was aquired by Atari).
Such agreements is pretty common thing among industry, for example Valve's games were published and distributed by EA back in the day.

Just released! Runs through DosBOX. In general seems to run ok but has nasty FPS drops when you shoot a turrent, not sure about the rest of the game.

Yeah... sadly it's just a DOSBox version, with inverted mouse by default... Probably you can change mouse axis in a config.

hmm tired to find the change mouse axis. in the config with notepad. its just writen in weird charatacters. might have to chance the mouse settings in control panel or something :/
About the inverted mouse, I found this on Vogons:
http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=21456

1. Download ctm21b4x.zip file.
2. Extract ctm21b4x\inverted\ctmouseY.exe file in the game folder:
.\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Last Rites\Game\

3. Add that file on [autoexec] block in DOSBOX.conf:
[autoexec] # Lines in this section will be run at startup. # You can put your MOUNT lines here. mount c: game c: ctmouseY lr exit

Yeah ctmouse works just fine. I got latest version from CuteMouse website. Just run it once like above, then you can delete this line. It will patch binary file.

I'm curious if there is some way to increase resolution. For some reason screenshots looks better...

Also I found F3 enables flashlight. It eats battery, so be careful :D
