i know you can deflect the attack however, might reduce the damage by some amount (never mesured it myself however). i assume eel liver also can reduce the damage (altough personally i have never bothered).
at worst a succsesfull reversal will give you plenty of time to heal.
for real (non hitless) fights you verry much want to do lightning reversal, so getting good at those would be the best
pemadeath, no ressurect, all bosses, no charm, bell asap, no level up skills or anti air deathblow (can still use prayer beads and memories) , no prosthetics, no ninjutsu, no combat arts, the only combat items i can use are; healing, status healing, status resistance, stealth sugar. i can also use divine confetti but only vs ghosts.
basicly the only thing i have going for me is healing and hp/damage up
generally lightning reversal is easier if you're ready for it but you can also just be in a spot where you wouldn't get hit by lightning reversal anyways
most lightning attacks in the game are very position dependant and if you're too close or too far they'll just whiff and it'll go over you completely
lightning reversal is generally preferable though as the lightning reversal is pretty easy to pull off (after some practice) and is absolutely devastating to your opponents
If you reverse lighting with the"Mist Raven"you have easier timing and no chip dmg but it cost emblems.
