is this really a souls-like game?
I play game for fun (win), so the idea of ​​a game that is designed to be extremely difficult doesn't really interest me. At least, that's what I thought before playing Sekiro. After beating this game, i eager for more. It is a shame that this game is extremely short.

Sekiro's mechanics are very predictable, so it's satisfying to play for non-hardcore gamers like me. However, when i watch any other fromsoftware's, like Elden Ring, the gameplay relies less on deflect and more on rolling to dodge, which reminds me of Witcher 3(i suck at that game lol).

I want to try Elden Ring, but it's very expensive (for me) and i think i need more than 2 hrs to decide whether i enjoy it or not.

Can i play Elden Ring by relying on deflect just like Sekiro?
or is there a game that is very similar to Sekiro?

Other than the ones already mentioned I'd like to throw in a wild Sifu in that hat. It uses the same concept of a "posture" you break by combining attacks and well-timed blocks. Its campaign is fairly short, but it's a game made around replaying and perfecting your skills in it, to the point that mastering the "deflection" mechanic to a decent degree locks the true ending. It also includes an arena mode with multiple challenges to get through in it.

As far as ER goes, is just a different kind of beast. I think you might enjoy it all the same, but things may feel a bit sloppier or less attuned to whatever build you choose to play with, compared to how perfectly attuned to Sekiro's sword combat most things are in Sekiro. I'd still greatly recommend it, just not as a nice little replacement for Sekiro as it's not quite the same. And no, unfortunately you can't depend on "deflects" for Elden Ring. There's a certain thing now in the DLC that gives you something similar, but is not the same and is way deep into the game for me to just argue you should go get it and play the game with it.

Sekiro's unique from other From games, Team Ninja, etc. (other souls-likes), because of the hyper focus on parry and posture breaking. Ironically, ER and the other games are technically more "easy" for non-hardcore gamers because it allows for flexibility in how you play and have summons (NPCs and real ppl). I think you find Sekiro satisfying because of its hyper focus on parrying and how fast/aggressive you're forced to play. All other souls-likes are inherently more defensive in nature because the combat philosophy has dodging as more a more prominent pillar.
The closest I can think of, are:
- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (it involves a similarly timed, but easier to execute parrying mechanic that most of the combat is centered on)
- Lies of P (which is a soulslike game - but combat is partly inspired by Sekiro)
- many action games in general let you use a similar, precision rhythm approach to combat (Devil May Cry, for example) - and, in case of DMC, rate your performance, making "win" more gradual and open (you can reach for perfection almost infinitely)
Lies of P, but the parry window is 8 frames, Sekiro is 30 frames. So you probably won't like it if you don't like trying

or just beat ninja gaiden black once and all those games become jokes that are super easy. no need to master them.

ER I found easier compared to Sekiro
its not a dark souls.
Elden ring main game is easy.
