tbh this game kind of sucks
looking back at the game and a key reason why i got bored. once you learn the counters and the parry typing the game is just so easy you wonder why play the game at that point.

like i think this game has the best animations from from software games but in terms of gameplay its legit i m2 this amount of times and then attack.

maybe i missed something but idk the game just feels off to me and i got bored of it. wondering if anyone else feels this.

in dark souls games there is a lot of boss movesets to learn in this game its just parry sim and some dodges for heavy attacks. hmmmm

Guess I'm the complete opposite lol. When I learned that holding block restores posture which meant you had to parry attacks rather than avoid them like in Souls, the game became much easier and I loved it. It's the second soulslike I've ever perfected and one of my favourite games of all time.

Easier doesn't mean the game stops being fun, it just means playing the game is more manageable. I'm willing to bet that the difficulty isn't why you don't like the game. You just don't like the gameplay, and that's fine. Maybe you prefer learning movesets and planning ahead rather than following a rhythm.

Maybe, you just need to find joy in simple things.
Lose yourself in the rhythm.
Enjoy deathblows.
Embrace elegance and serenity.

It's very much not a soulslike game, despite being from the same studio. It's closer to metroidvanias.
Parrying things with a sword is the point - and that is the aspect you need to enjoy in order to enjoy the game as a whole.
Also, consider this: GRAPPLING HOOK

What do you do in any souls game dodge/block and counter that’s it. Sekiro at least has you engage the enemy.

This game is more than just simply a 'parrying and dodging' simulator...

Execution of the fundamentals during moments of extreme stress is what makes this game difficult and satisfying to play.

In a boss fight, you have to figure out whether to attack or defend... and you only have 1/10th of a second to do so. Even once you start attacking, you have to know when to stop, or continue attacking. Thus the element of MENTAL DISCIPLINE comes into focus- 'I've gotten 2 hits on the Boss, do I continue attacking him, or should I start blocking for the inevitable counterattack?'

Even blocking isn't as simple as it sounds. Your timing has to be perfect to land a successful parry and you have to face the enemy at a very specific angle.

Attacking itself has so many components- You could unleash a charged 'thrust' attack, a jumping attack and in the early stages of the battle, you could start with a running, 'dash' attack.

I could go on and on as to what makes this game deceptively simple, yet actually very challenging.
How is it any different from fromsoft bosses? In sekiro you memorize the attacks and parry, in souls you memorize the attacks and dodge. The difference is in sekiro you're not running away the whole time, in sekiro you're an equal

I don’t get the point you made comparing Sekiro and DS. I still had to adapt to enemies and memorize their movesets, just like in Elden Ring.

what... If sekiro is "just parry sim", then dark souls+elden ring is "just roll sim" & bloodborne is (mostly)"just step dodge sim". And what do ya mean with "in dark souls games there is a lot of boss movesets to learn", it's literally the same here. Bosses have plenty of movesets here which you have to learn in order to succeed. Only difference is that in dark souls you have to wait for them to finish their combos while in sekiro you can actually progress the fight while they're doing it.

You've only beaten two of the easiest bosses in the game though, fight demon of hatred and come back
