Great Carp Kill NG+?

I can't seem to figure out how to get the truly precious bait, I talk to both merchants and have bought everything they have to offer (all they both have left are red lumps) is it not possible to get the item in NG+ or am I doing something wrong?

Have you tried talk to them after purchasing everything from them? If not, try it.

I've bought everything, red lumps are infinite buys I have 8 Carp scales left and don't think there are any left, but I think itight be an issue since I bought the first part of the mask on ng and the second on ng+?

When you speak to them, there is an option to Purchase and Talk. Did you try selecting the talk option? You have to exhaust all of his dialogue to proceed further.

Let's not talk about how stupid I am to not realize this :| that was it, thanks a lot :)
