Not like I remember the original AOE2. The difficulty has been ramped up considerably on the campaigns, which may be enjoyable for some, but i personally find timed events in campaigns to be boring, as I do any mode that requires you to be faster at creating units than your opponant. The fun of any RTS is in the unlocking of upgrades and being able to build a force that is a challenge to the AI rather than funnel your play style to firefight and react to events. As such, this version of the game is "not as good" as it used to be. Id still give it a thumbs up for the ability to sandbox and do things your own way, but im simply not interested in completing the campaign any more after having my arse handed to me multiple times due to timed scenarios. Not at all as I remember, but worth it if you get it in a sale

The longest game I have ever played so far. If u like me who is obsessed with history, civilization epic and strategy, this game is undoubtedly your dish. Very classic RTS game. Please remember, THE CLASSIC NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE!!!

The classic look n feel with updated graphics

They ruined a classic by "modernizing" it with stupid pop ups like one that displays every week nagging me about something to do with a profile picture. Or periodic "what's new" bull crap like this game is trying to be a typical android app that nags users about release notes. I missed it when games would start up and not shove things like this in my face. At least have a DO NOT SHOW AGAIN button if you are going to display nags like this.

Oh and when I peacefully complained about this on the official forum, I was banned. Don't support these egotistical developers that can't take any critism.

For nostalgia I still prefer the 2013 version (need that classic main menu), but for playing with friends, this is great! New graphics are cool too.

Absolutely worth it. If you played AoE back in the day, you need to get this one. Such a massive improvement, active community and continuous support and add-ons. Guess it's also a nice way to learn about historical events and figures that may be rather obscure.
Also the price is very cheap for a game that pristine.
Get it, you won't regret it for a second.
