3x my speed is comically slow according to pro players, it must be over for me.

It may also be that your hotkey configuration is not very good.

My hotkey configuration is from HD edition, although it's very modified. I normally have 35-42 apm and it allows me to play at a level 1600-1700.

For example, I don't have a hotkey to select one archery range, but I directly select all the archery ranges.

I play with a tweaked version of the default DE hotkeys with things like changing the hotkeys for the town center to be consistent with everything else i.e q to train villagers and h to cycle through town centers.

That's one of the hotkeys I modified. Instead of cycling between the TC's, I select all the TC's. This also has an advantage, since I don't need to take my eyes off my army to select all the TC's and continue making villagers.

Besides, I also use H to cycle between TC's if the enemy raids me or I need to modify a gather point.

i really want to see a recording of one of your games, i dont even know how its possible to do 20apm without going afk D:

20 APM? How are you tracking this? I tried looking to see if you have ranked games, but the profile I found with your name I don't think was you even though the country is correct. Do you play ranked at all?

I once did a 15-20 APM in Starcraft 2 to prove a point to my friend that speed is not an excuse. I easily beat the hardest AI at the time with minimal micro and bare basic of macro.

Of course he made other excuses about not being able to be "good" at the game.

I mean, I know I suck and I probably have low APM but I doubt that's the issue lol.
However it was enjoyable watching Viper get throttled by the APM limiter, I could actually follow some stuff for once.

APM matters, but ppl often overestimate its worth. There's kinda like a baseline for minimum APM for higher level of players. It really depends on what elo you are trying to reach.

APM = Actions per minute. A lot of pros in any RTS game will click around the map like crazy and highlight the same characters multiple times without issuing commands to up their APM. It sounds like they're padding it out but really they're not as they're keeping themselves pumped and in a high active state mentally so they're far more alert.

Just click like crazy, click and drag to highlight units repeatedly and issue the same commands multiple times you'll have high apm.

4K Grubby from WarCraft III is one of the best RTS players around, just watch him play WC3 and you'll see a high level player at work.

apm is overrated, also people dont cap at 20eapm.
So as long as you dont have any disability and all your fingers you are fine.

How? Viper, the worlds greatest player couldnt reach above 1700 with 60 APM. Are you talking about eAPM (EffectiveACtions Per Minute?)

Thats what im talking about. OP is saying APM in his title not eAPM. He mustve just mixed the two up. Same with this James guy im quoting, he's saying APM not eAPM.
