This has better gameplay. Origins has better setting. Both have good story.

Play them in release order
Buy both very cheap now in sale
I say Origin. Odissey is worse gameplay wise imo because of utter garbage of leveling system and autoleveling. And all enemies are damage sponges unless you make a 100% crit build, which is too long to make.

You can get a mod that helps with the leveling and even the level gating on odyssey. Prolly origins too, not sure. But the easy answer is would you rather explore ancient Greece or Egypt.
With regards the level scaling in Odyssey, the default setting can be a bad thing because you never really feel like your levelling makes you more powerful however you do get some control over the scaling, you can set it so the enemies scale below your level.

I think Origins is a good start. If you start with Odyssey, it will be harder to adapt to Origins after that, but if you start with Origins, it is much easier to adapt to Odyssey and then Valhalla.

If you learn how the armor and weapons systems work and keep your gear upgraded enemies are easy to take down with a bow. I can kill Mercs at my level in 2 to 3 Devastating Shots and the only ones that a damage sponges are the Mercs that are 10 or more levels above me and I have knocked off merc up to 40 levels above me and have the videos to prove it

A playlist of some of my more prominent mercenary kills. All were on Hard Difficulty with Heavy Scaling

This one, not least because you can play as Kassandra.

Well, it's a good thing you can do that, i guess. But cheesing enemies with a bow is not what i consider to be a fun gameplay.
I play only melee because Odissey combat is pretty dynamic and fun on technical level. But it's pointless if every generic mob require you to play cockie clicker to kill them.
I mean, it works if it's a duel with a boss, but i'm not having fun spent so much time dealing with some bandit without an armor. And i'm not even talking about fight agains big group...

The best thing i did - i cheated (first time using cheats in 5 years) myself max level to not bother with upgrading my stuff every 30 minutes and made a 100% crit chance build with around 300% crit damage.
Now i kill bandits with 3-4 hits, i die with 3-4 hits and now it feels like a game that i enjoy playing.
It's a pity that it required such methods for me to start enjoying the gameplay
Dude you are a huge hypocrite, you claim I'm "cheesing enemies" when I'm playing the game as intended on Hard Difficulty with Heavy Scaling not using any cheats at all and then you brag about actually cheating and making yourself max level so you can get an unearned 100% Crit Chance build so you can actually cheese enemies

Not really, cheating and cheesing are not the same. And I didn’t condemn your way of playing, I’m just saying that without cheats I ended main story and leveled up to level 52 on hard difficulty (At one point I decreased to medium for a short period of time, but enemies are sponges all the same) and all this time I was just sick of the gameplay of this game. And I personally am not very interested in using a bow and exploit range and AI pathing. That's all.
