thread title basically summarizes my entire question, does gunslinger's level 2 optimal range fix affect SMGs as well as pistols, or just pistols?

I've noticed that generally speaking if it specifies "pistol" that means JUST pistol for perks, but I only recently learned that pistol amps affect SMGs as well, so I'm curious about gunslinger's specifics.
