Not much to see in this update. We're just turning off Frostfall and fixing a few minor bugs.

New:

Frostfall Festival Ended

Fixed:

Fixed an issue with snapping rolling movement in multiplayer when encumbered.
Captain Jensen now shows he has a quest properly
Fixed an issue with not being able to open the Astral Portal after completing a quest due to multiplayer shenanigans
Fixed an issue with using the hand mirror while mounted
Fixed an issue with the missing husband quest
Replaced an incorrect icon
Fixed an issue where you can get stuck on the Masked Menace quest if you found the same clue twice between sessions

Improved:

Removed the “drop fish here” sign near the fishmonger in Moonberry Farms

stewards/vassals for player homes & cat tail cosmetic

so reading some posts I understand kindred does not like companions so I will not request player alts as companions. that even though I would love it. However I am here to ask if it would be possible even if only at face value to have our alt characters as stewards/vassals of our homes just walking around. Or at best that while we are away the farm keeps going. Other than that could we eventually get a cat tail cosmetic to match with the cat ears? Please and Thank You...

Frostfall Festival | Winter Event Update v1.8.4.0

Happy holidays, adventurers!

Welcome to the 5th annual Frostfall Festival!

This event will last 2 weeks (ending on January 2nd) so jump in now and visit Hope Harbor or Sleepy Haven and speak with the snowmen there to to get access to the exclusive event zone, Snowpeak.

If you haven't picked up the game yet, it's currently on sale for Steam's winter sale! Now is the best time to jump into Tirawyn, or grab a copy for your friends so you can explore together!

And finally here are the patch notes:

v1.8.4.0

New:

Frostfall Festival

Fixed:

Sprout’s dialog now working as expected
Fixed some minor issues with placeable signs
Companions now follow their owner in multiplayer
Wraith and boar companions fixed and working as intended now
Necrotic prism companions working as intended now
Maxoph is back and working as expected
Stoneclaw now spawns as he should with a long respawn time after he’s defeated
Spirit wolves no longer teleporting to the host player (though sometimes they still attack friendly NPC’s…)
Hopefully fixed issues with companions all turning into wasps
Mounting and dismounting no longer resets your character’s scaled race size
Ravari big again
Fixed an icon for the new architecture pillar item

Improved:

Maxoph is now a world boss, but can only be fought ONCE per character, regardless of outcome
Placeable wild flowers are now all yellow wild flowers instead of random flowers.

How does difficulty works in Multiplayer?

There are four levels of difficulty. Suppose I (player 1) create my character and decide to play on hard ... I host a game and player 2 joins, but has chosen “easy” when creating his character. Do I then play on hard and he on easy? Or does the host's difficulty level apply for everyone?...

I'm wondering how I can get the weapon plans to get this quest. While playing with a friend it bugged out and I can't do it anymore... Unless there's a starting point for it that we're missing?

Should i play the game yet or wait?

I played Swords n Magic and stuff about 3 years ago with 2 friends, but only for a few hours. We didn't even leave the first island. How many zones are there now? Does the game have a real ending? Is it worth playing the game now or is there still special content to come that you should wait for?...

Update 1.8.3.0!

Hey there, adventurers! We're excited to bring you a new update that introduces a few small additions and fixes some bigger bugs while we chip away at the next major additions to the game!

Most notably here are new building pieces for the architect table that should let you take your structures to a whole new level!

And probably one of the longest requested features of the game, placeable signs! These are crafted from the carpentry bench at a very low level and only take 10 oak planks. They come in two versions; a standard sign and a wall sign. You can place these ANYWHERE in the world!

Patch Notes

Update v1.8.3.0

New:
Different races are now scaled up/down appropriately
Ramshackle building pieces
Added tower roof building pieces
Placeable signs
Can now view the Delver’s Pass (placeholder) map from the world map

Fixed:
Can talk to Verity again
Spawning in Valewood now shows the proper map
Fixed an issue where relogging shows previously dug up chests as buried again
Summoned skeletons from the Necrotic Prism now work properly again
Fixed an issue with pockets not properly being applied when swapping loadouts
Fixed an issue with the “Unlocked a New Mount” pop up not displaying properly during certain points
Slowfall no longer causes weird jitters when falling from high places in multiplayer
The wasp, boar and other companions have finally ended their pay raise strike and are back to work
Spirit Wolves no longer attack you when they no longer have any other victims around… phew!
Fixed an issue with Dud Spud quest when talking to Arthus twice in a row
Fixed a couple NPC’s carrying bottles incorrectly (probably missed some)
Fixed an issue with community chests in multiplayer reporting that they’re already in use by another player
Fixed a clipping issue with Berserker Helm
Fixed a floating pile of dirt and some floating bushes in Delver’s Pass
Fixed some typos, as usual.
Recycle Bin preview is now the same size as the placed bin model

Improved:
Summoned Mushroom no longer causes jittery movement in multiplayer…. But still doesn’t work in multiplayer (Sorry!)
Black glasses now sold in Sleepy Haven to make certain events that require them easier

Worsened:
Lilah’s Lucky Catcher is no longer lucky thanks to an issue with overlapping mechanics

Known Bugs:
Swapping between loadouts with the same backpack can sometimes grant the incorrect carry capacity
New Ramshackle building pieces have placeholder icons (Woops!)

Early-Access-Rezension

Although it's impressive that the dev has been working on making this a masterpiece since 2020, as an early kickstarter backer i get frustrated with each major update that compels me to start over again and again and again. All the missions, all the dialogue. It's just an absolute non-starter. If you're contemplating getting this, just hold off. Kindred Games, i'm so sorry I have to give this a thumbsdown but it's not a cozy game anymore - it's just grindy and repetitive.

I'm proud to have supported you as a kickstarter. I love the project but in an effort to not miss any of your major content, i can't keep starting over again and again.

I'm just going to wait till this comes out of a EA. I'm sure by that time I'll miss it and want to come back

In the meantime, I'm hanging up my adventurering gear.
