While this is still the classic hex-based wargame, it's moved to a more strategic level, where you command army groups, and an individual unit is a division, sometimes a brigade, as opposed to battallion or regiment level games.
But there's a twist: HQ effective command range and... LOGISTICS. Supply is very important, as in real life, and you need to manage it very carefully.
All in all, I've enjoyed it very much.

Game is simply awful and weighted heavily in AI favor. AI units can and will move across the map at impossible speeds. Supply will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a single turn while AI can sit out of supply for 3-4 turns with no negative modifiers and will destroy your fully supplied units for little to no loss.

I cannot believe that I've never heard of "Unity of Command" before! It's such a beautifully made table-top feel war game! I'm still getting the hand of it after a few hours, but I really find the gameplay satisfying and the focus on logistics and supply is excellent. Bought a few expansions as well, so looking forward to the variety of gameplay and historic setting!

There's a lot I don't like but the save game method alone is bad enough to give a bad review.
