Iratus: Lord of the Dead

View Stats:
2 turns victory team: Lich, Dark Knight, Black Widow, Black Widow
The idea is to remove blocks from 2 adjacent enemies by Black Widows, then Lich buffs Dark Knight by +24 who kills those enemies with 400% damage from guaranteed critical, that buff becomes +96 damage.
It started working as soon as I researched guaranteed critical spell, level 3 team, 156 damage:

I was lucky to find Legcuffs in previous fight so I stopped using Lich who learned +18 buff and hired a new one with +24 buff. Now all I need is to find mana item and put it on Knight so I would be able to use the spell every turn.

Edit. I reached stage on 2nd floor when I don't need mana, looking for tongue now.

Well, I see some potential to improve the concept, without changing it too much:
  1. Widows put debuffs on grabbed enemy, so upgrade All Is Dust should provide more damage.
  2. Spiky Cocoon will make a nice combo assuming the above.
  3. Swap position of Lich and Dark Knight, this allows to cast Toxic Cloud for armor removal, or chance for insta kill.
What I see as some weakness - not really a way to reach 4th position to ex. interrupt enemy stance there.

Although (a very short pondering) if I'd design a team based on Dark Knight's Unfeeling Aggression dealing critical damage I'd replace one Black Widow for Ghoul for her Alluring Mark to buff not only attack, but also critical chance, after that she could remove blocks, or attack enemies with some debuffs.

All is Dust is better indeed, currently on 2nd floor I deal the same damage +6 from armor/resistance and +6 from buff/debuff so it should be better in long fights. When I was picking the skill, I didn't know how exactly the buff/debuff damage is increased. It looks like it is 20%.
I don't like Spiky Cocoon because it greatly decreases regeneration.
I considered even Banshee since it can buff attack also :)
If I find another Legcuff, I will pick Ghoul indeed, without the item it would break my positions and I cannot spend spell on movement.
Dark Knight is in 3rd position because it uses class item which generates mana (still no mana item) and I don't see a problem with armor when Knight deals 200+ damage to 2 enemies. Also sometimes I move Dark Knight to 2nd position to activate ultimate for healing, it would require 2 rounds from 4th position.
I wonder how hard Living Armors will be, but then I have Invigorating Cocoon and they can attack just first 2 positions.

I'm curious how the team will perform - so far foundations seems to be solid, except breaking stances.

I'd use Sharpened Bones and replace BWs with Banshee and Ghoul who can buff DK's attack to make charge more powerful.

The cost of casting Fate should decrease gradually.

In short fights there won't be many debuffs to feed on and moreover you can equip Iratus with artifacts which improve armor and (in both cases- regardless of the way you developed the skill) increasing devastating effect of critical hits.

Yes, Shappened Bone sounds interesting, I completely forgot about it. Thank you! I don't have one at the moment though.

Fate costs 10 mana on 3rd floor, I start with 100 rage and have +36 spellpower at max rage skill and then I restore 29 mana after fight, also my DK can restore 12 mana every turn.
I cannot have too many buffers because I still need to remove blocks, Ghoul can do it too while Banshee can't.
I have just replaced one BW with Ghoul and damage increased significantly:

Main issue now is I spend too much time trying to kill enemies with non-DK because I have artefact which permanently buffs minions for kills :)

Don't know the exact formula, however these damage per sth, marked with attack icon, is also affected by buffs like Infectious Lunacy, Dominate Undead, Alluring Mark etc. That's why my latest team, based on Blood Phantasm's Moaning Chains, was able to oneshot bosses - because X extra damage per debuff was scaled with buffs, and attack stat of the minion.
Cast Dominate Undead on Ghoul and check her Savage Instincts, you should observe the same behavior.

I replaced defensive items on Widows with debuff-per-hit items, but I still kept class items for boss fights.
Also replaced second item of Knight with +25% damage to elite and bosses.

Hello guys! Your build is quite good actually, my DK has just made +1k /600 pure damage on pair of debuffed targets in the very 1st round on 4th floor EH1... I equipped him with recently founded hero's blood, also buffed by 3-6 stacks of the Spirit Lance, Golden Rose and Power of Necromancy.

Let us know if it works all the way on EH1, I played it on normal as far as I recall.

I've just made it through EH1.
Everything went well enough, I lost about 5-6 minions for the whole run.
