Whatever the other issues are, kripcision is correct. There are, AFAIK, 3 bargain key resellers that are 100% legit. Humble, Fanatical, Green Man. Buy a discount Steam game from one of them, it will work. They are authorized after-market resellers.
Kinguin is "grey market" You have no guarantees, no recourse if they sell you a bad key. It works probably 90% of the time, but the other 10% has bit me in the butt. I rec avoid them.
