truly a jaw dropping experience

I just played it last night. Don't you just love it when they hide the assets until the fanservice comes along?

I expected one of them to be well endowed but a certain pretender impressed the hell out of me.

Wow, I just finished the rest of the DLCs, I can't believe the blatant fanservice DLC was the best one. All the others just reused maps and were varying amounts of interesting or difficult but wow this one was seriously the best one. What the hell. Edy DLC was literally just the first map of the game and over instantly, glad to have Edy but seriously?

I mean, props for being the only DLC that plays on a new map. But other than that I think it's the second worst DLC in the game. Best to worst for me are:

Expert Skirmishes > Squad 7 > Captainless Squad > Two Valkyria > Beach > Advance Ops.

I found it the best one specifically because it was the only new map and had a neat little side challenge of hunting down various aces. Captainless Squad was similar to the Edy Detachment from the first game, but since the game already has all the squad stories it kinda just felt like another squad story. Squad 7 was nice to see the cameos but the VA changes were a disappointment and it was just awkwardly focused on Rosie being racist so I wasn't super jazzed about bringing back a character specifically from before she grew as a person just so we could see her being awful again. Two Valkyria was quite dull, just ignore the whole map and have one valkyria shoot the other until you win, comically OP units for use in the rest of the game is funny at least. Advance Ops I genuinely don't know why they even bothered lol, should have just given Edy outright. Expert Skirmishes I honestly only played a few of because I find the absurdly difficult maps not really a whole lot of fun to play because all they really do is encourage cheesy tactics.

!00% agreed on the VA changes. What was worse is that I just got done finishing VA1 before starting this and it made it far more disappointing. They could have at least found some VA that actually sounded similar to the VAs in VA1.

Then again, complaining about something they didn't even have to do (they could have left it with the subtitles alone) is why they argue about not using English VAs or cutting it down from the original Japanese to begin with ... especially Sega who is known to cut down on the English VAs content compared to the original Jp VA anyways.

Eh, at least we got them so I can't complain there.

I haven't finished all the DLC content as I just got finished moving to another state so I'll have to withhold comments on those I have yet to get to.

Yeah I also replayed VC1 just before this so the VA changes were a specific disappointment, except for Alicia, strangely, who was the same VA. But sure, it's a minor gripe compared to just not voicing them at all but man that would be a completely different thing to complain about. I've never played in Japanese so I guess I am curious actually if the Japanese VAs were different as well.

I don't remember using cheese strats during Expert Skirmishes, they were challenging but perfectly doable without any of that. And the A Rank requirements were also fair.

The beach DLC though, I actually had to resort to Scout rushing on the first map to beat it in 1 turn while killing all four Aces. Didn't like that much.

You didn't need to beat it in one turn with all the aces to unlock the other chapters, just needed to kill them.

I replay this game specifically for the beach scene. It's nice to get a good fap in between all the death and destruction.
