Some one on reddit mentioned that you can go in the basement and set the enemies to be only the small bat creatures. Then you can play on hard 3 beat it then hard 4 beat it then hard 5 beat it which is pretty easy cause it’s just the bat guys not counting the bosses. Then when you unlock abyssal, make sure you set everything back to normal because that option disables achievements. I am not sure if this still works but you can give it a try.
