Hey SAO Fans, Happy Chinese New Year!
We have important news regarding SAO Utils 2's release date we'd like to share with you today......

ːsteammockingː Don't get me wrong, so here's the plan:

1. The closed private testing could start as early as March.
   
2. A beta testing will begin in early May.
   SAO Utils 2: Progressive will be unlocked for everyone who owns SAO Utils: Beta automatically.
   
3. Finally, SAO Utils 2: Progressive will be Free to Play on 5th November, 2022.
   Only the Workshop and some extra Steam features will be reserved for the users of SAO Utils: Beta.
   
4. SAO Utils: Beta will keep everything as it is: The program will work as before, the store page won't be removed and you can purchase it at anytime.

Any ideas or suggestions?

SAO Utils 2 will have not only SAO/GGO styles for the launcher menu, but also BOTW and MORE! Everyone can create and share your own themes and widgets through the new workshop in the future.

We're almost there! Let's see what will SAO Utils look like in the next major release...Though it will take some time before we can start a private test :P

Finally, we've finished refactoring all the widgets for the next major version of SAO Utils.
Here's the last pieces of them :P


Was originally created by RangerCD, has been ported to our new NERvGear platform now:

• The "Integer Value" and "Decimal Value" will be merged into a single data value, you will change the output format via "Value Format" option.
  
• [0, 10240]\Network Interface(*)\Bytes Received/sec
  Prepending "[MIN,MAX]" prefix for the PDH querying string to specify a custom maximum and minimum value is no longer needed, you will input these values via the "Minimum Value" and "Maximum Value" options.

• The "Inbox", finally, implemented XD.
  
• New "GGO" dialog and widget style.
  
• New IMAP protocol support, the POP3 support will be deprecated.
  
• Feel free to add or remove the mail icon, the mailing system can be functional without any widgets.

• Unlimited widget amount with separated preferences.
  
• Customizable schedule table and playback url.
  
• Customizable widget colors.
  
• New "Display special schedules", "Display late night schedules" and "Display custom schedules only" options.
  
• New "Animate Schedule" data source.

• New "ALO" theme.
  
• For ALO theme, the "HP" and "MP" gauges can be bound to different data values.
  
• Each item could have its own icon.
  
• Place unlimited amount of HP-Bar widgets in different themes on desktop.

The "GGO Widget" will be renamed as "HUD Widget" because of some ability changes.

• Customize items' background (Hexagon style and more).
  
• Customize items' unit size (0.5~9).
  
• Customize items' color.
  
• Customize items' layout, including alignments and spacing.
  You can arrange multiple non-rectangular items using only one widget now.
  
• New "Image (Data Source)" item view.
  This enables you to display different images according to the associated data source, e.g. Album Cover.

With the new widget editing mode, you can modify batch items more easily.

• Unify the browsing and choosing operation for widget and menu actions.
  
• New "Widget Action": control widgets' visibility.
  
• New "Miscellaneous" actions: show, hide launcher and more.

Similar to "Script Value", you can write JavaScript codes within "Script Action":

• Execute multiple actions at a time.
  
• Program the action execution logic.
  
• Persistence or share data between actions and data sources.
  
• Include "Execute ALL" and "Execute Sequentially" examples.

• Background browsing and choosing for widgets such as "HUD Widget".
  
• Support Nine-Patch Image format (*.9.ext).

Today (?) I would like to show you some exciting new features in next major version. Please leave comments to tell us your ideas!

• Now we provide a standard frame for every desktop widget, you can optional "Always show", "Always hide" or "Auto hide" every single widget frame independently.
  
• Some basic widget options, such as "Always on top", "Transparent" options are integrated in the standard widget menu, so there're no extra codes needed for a 3rd-party widget to support such options.
  
• New widget options: "Opacity", "Show on desktop/launcher", "Mouse activation" and more.
  
• Anyone can code QML scripts to create widgets now.

• We remake a more friendly data selection and preview dialog. Also URL type data could be previewed as a image.
  
• "Update parameter" and "Invoke parameter" inputs are now featured with preference settings, no more geek codes.
  
• New "GPU Data": You don't have to install 3rd-party applications to read general GPU information now.
  
• New "WMI Data": Query based system information.

Let's introduce the new geek "Script Value" which allows writing JavaScript codes to satisfy some "hard-core" requirements:

• Customizing value format.
  
• Combining outputs from multiple values.
  
• Data sharing and persistence.
  
• Converting values to displaying images.

Icon catalogs are added to the new icon picker dialog, it also allow choosing a EXE file as a common icon.


Image previewing is added to the new image picker dialog.

Aincrad Workshp has 5 main sections, you can browse, search, subscribe, download, manage and create workshop items easily.


You could craft and subscribe this new "Image Set" items in the workshop, and make use of them via the image pick up dialog from:

• Image Widget
  
• GGO Widget
  
• Information panel of launcher menus

BMP, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG formats are supported.



Turn on or off the "Two fingers sliding down" gesture for touch devices, you could find this switch via Preference - General - Enable Touch Gesture.
