Vehicles: when are they not worth repairing anymore?
How to determine if a vehicle is not worth repairing anymore?

I have my adjustment as follows:
70 % (correction: 30%) and 25 years. Good coverage of workshops. There is almost never a damaged vehicle to be seen. Idk how often they are renewed. But my scrapyard is not so busy. Almost never.

I can’t come with numbers.
That’s just what I observed.

Are these settings for auto replacement?
I never used this option.

Jepp, it is. Works fine here. Those vehicles with given parameter find their way to the scrapyard, and the others coming in automatically from the customs.
I set all my vehicles to repair at 30%. They get a good solid 40 years of usage with that method. Around 40 years old they don't seem to repair to 0% anymore, and get into the state of for example at 36% wear and tear they only repair to like 32%. You can still get another another handful of usable years out of them if you need to, but that 40-45 year old range for me is when it's time for replacing with new.

Edit: you can get many more years of usage out of ships if regularly repairing before they get too worn out. I have 50+ year old ships that can still repair to 0%.. So i've not determined an average age when they need to start getting replaced.

Argh.... I need to correct myself.
I repair my vehicles at 30 % as well.

In which direction is that repair setting? If i set it at 30%, does it mean it will go repair when it reach 30% wear or when it have 30% "hp" left?

The former, a "30%" setting will have your vehicles look for a repair station when they hit 30% wear & tear.
Exactly, the repair station will send a vehicle to where you vehicle needing repair is parked and idle.

Also important to note that all buildings that can house vehicles can be directly connected to repair stations, if any tiniest portion of them are within the outside dotted line you see when placing a repair station. I may be completely wrong, but it seems things connected in that way do not even need a truck to be free to drive over and initiate the repair. Using this method of placing repair centres next to things like technical services for a city, or bus end stations can increase your efficiency of conducting repairs, and of keeping those crucial tech serv, and bus vehicles in top form.

edit: also key for things like rail end stations for passenger lines. It's always a good idea to have critical vehicle structures that allow easy repair within them, within that connected range of repair centres.

Furthermore to what I just posted. If you did not know, know that you can use the the 'list of vehicles and buildings' tab on the left to set the repair % of entire areas of vehicles. Actually more than areas, you can use that to set a particular repair level for individual types of vehicles globally even. (just know that only affects ones that exist at the moment, not any bought or produced after in the future)

I asked because, frequently, my repair shops are not enough for keeping maintenance in check, and vehicles start reaching 100% wear and tear. At this point, I send them to depots and wait for them to be repaired. But I am afraid that I am not being economical this way,
