Just started off really slow, and was uncomfortable for someone who's never played it before. Nothing told me what to do, then I just caught fire

So I start the first race of the tournament, and a bit after the shooting starts the game just crashes and I get this error https://imgur.com/a/5e3bpyu How can I fix this?

I don't understand what is going on here, most of the time the nitro is not working, even if it's full just flashes and makes that annoying sound, also does not use up, the opponents have the same problem on their nitros, but then after I drop all mines or destroy a building, sometimes, not every time, but sometimes the turbo starts to work as it should. Am I using the turbo correctly or is there something I'm missing?...
