Editing Liu Bei's portrait is not a problem since he already has unique art. Liu Dai's originally a generic, which won't work. Fundamentally, you'd need a unique armor for Liu Dai to be able to give him some form of unique portrait, or at least re-route the existing generic armor paths to allow him to get a unique portrait edit.
There are two steam guides that both teach you how to create or edit a character and how to create unique armor (because that does help with getting a unique portrait to an extent). You should try and have a look at those guides. It is a bit outdated, but the majority of the information in there still works with the current game build.
Thank you for helping me. I found the TMU mod among the UI mods, and after spending some time dissecting the mod, I'm still not sure where the issue lies. The mod adds new visuals for a few minor characters, and I noticed the dong_min part. I had to delete each item one by one to see which ones were important and related to the visuals. It’s quite frustrating and exhausting. So now I just need to add the unique armor for Liu Dai and adjust it in Dave, right? Once again, thank you very much for your response
