In general, this is the first game in the series in which I got carried away by the legendary difficulty, and then returned to previous games to make sure that everything was quite easy there too. Now I'm replaying the campaign again with all the factions (only the Nyanman and the yellow rebels are left) and I'm still having fun. Especially if you follow the lore.
If you are confident in your tactical genius, I am sure that you will like it in multiplayer)))
I do try. but this game's battle is just so underwhelming. having beaten the game means nothing here. or should I wait for the last 100 turns to start having challenge? makes no sense. I can't be the AI, bc the AI was worse in other titles, and yet more difficult. it has to do with the amount of time your tier 1 melee can still hold for very long, and some other issues combined.
look, this is obkjectively verifiable. play some 5 battles in shogun and then 5 in 3K. I even need to reaload a couple of times to attain victory in shogun. check these SS:

Understand, you play with legendary heroes, they alone (without a squad at all) destroy full stacks of the enemy.
I talk about “green”, and you continue about your “wet”. Finish at least one campaign in total war mode, play for other factions (definitely for the robber girl), see how tiring constant overcoming can be, and then with a clear conscience complain about the ease of the game.
DId you see the screenshots? That is trivial. Yes, I have legendary heroes. But I also win with generic heroes almost as easily. If you played Attila, you'd see how much harder it is. You actually feel the danger of losing if you started the battle at a 50% chance of winning.
At any right, I shall try more. I love the lore and campaign in this damned game. But I have a hypothesis as to why this game is easy, and it has to do with battle lenght.
Disclaimer about shogun 2: In defensive siege battles, it's very easy to pull off a Heroic victory, due to AI stupidity
Nobunaga approves this post.
Issue with this and modern total wars is there is always 1-3 units per faction you just spam for win, older ones could be abused that way as well but newer ones love their "doomstacks"
