«One of these days I'll follow her»
Has anyone thought about the wives's knowledge of the treasure, and about the fact that at the end the treasure is in Johan's house? Anna Fretlan wrote in her diary, one of the last things she wrote before falling ill, that she had checked the drawings of Ruth. Now, if she knew something about the treasure, she would have recognised it in the drawing. Instead, she writes that "Ruth has such an imagination". This can only mean that Johan in 20 years never informed his wife about the treasure. It is not surprising, since in this period and in this agricultural society, women do not count for much. The feud between the two husbands is all that matters, it is irrelevant if the two wives yearn for a reconciliation.

We could think that Margareth is a bit more informed, since she writes in ther letter to Anna that she knows "there are things their husbands have not told them, about what they found". Or maybe Margareth knows the truth but wants to quietly check if the other one knows.

Now, it seems to me a very important detail that Anna said she would one day follow Ruth. I expected to read that she discovered that Ruth was playing near the mine, which she forbade her to do, but nothing. She probably just stayed in bed ill and died.
Anyway, how did the treasure end up in Ruth's bedroom? Maybe Ruth brought it home, although neither Anna nor Johan had anything to say about it. Maybe she hid it under the bed and no one in the family knew it was there.
I think Anna Fretland never discovered the treasure, or else she would have reported it on her diary. What do you think?

When playing I also thought that the treasure box in the Ruth's room was never discovered. But as I think about it now it doesn't make sense - there were only a few things in the room and the box wasn't even hidden. And even Anna mentions in the diary that she was in the room when Ruth was outside. She would also regularly clean the room so she would discover such a box immediately. Therefore she must have known about it but then it's weird that she didn't try to find out where Ruth got such an old artifacts. So I think that it's probably a plot hole.
