Remastered or original?
I just finished the original bioshock and after that i just realized that when buying bioshock the remaster also appears on your steam library, is it worth playing?, or is it literally the same but with better graphics?

I'm interested in knowing this too. I have never played a single Bioshock game before and I want to know which version is better before jumping in.

100% Remaster, original is terrible technically. If you turn on controller in settings then subtitles will be broken, alot of animations and physics works in 30fps, interface is in low resolution, and sound is broken too, for example if we have several sources of shooting then all sfx will be shout down, also original have bad texture. Just set fov on minimum and dont play survivor difficult and play remaster.

I didn't have any issue with the original, minus it lagging the closer I got to the end of the game. The remaster, I had it crashing a lot when I tried it in '22, but it seems to have stopped. Now I have the texture's going in and out, it's a common bug, and sometimes it stutters, but it seems to work fine.

original takes some effort but was worth going back through. its a shame the Remaster is pretty bad and one of the best games ever made isn't easily available in its best state.

the original still has flaws though, especially audio chop out. so be aware

OG is my favorite, with EAX enabled powered by a Creative Sound Card. The sound is amazing.
I have played the remastered version of Bioshock 1 for a bit, but after some thinking, I think I will stick with the original. Besides, I played the original on my brother's Xbox 360. Might as well stick to that version. The only thing I don't like about the original is that it's a little buggy mess but that's basically it. I had to enable stereo mixing to get the audio to work. Aside from that, I am going with the original for more performance on my computer and because I don't like the 2k launcher s***.

Original I think just looks better.

The Remaster claims to have improvements, and it does in some areas. But its also missing many effects that just make the original look more cohesive.

In the original, everything looks equally good. In the remaster, some things look better, while others look worse.

I've just finished replaying the Original again for the first time in over 15 years. I was probably on a 9800GTX+ the last time I played it. And now I feel very old. lol.

There have been a couple of times I considered replaying since the Remaster came out (not least because it was a free upgrade) but I too was always put off by the supposed instability of it, and the graphical...irregularities i've heard of. I've never actually tried the Remaster.

I only had a couple of issues in my recent play-through, and they're probably only something to affect me personally:

1) I couldn't get the mouse sensitivity to feel comfortable, presumably because of using a much higher resolution than intended (2k). I resorted to using a controller which I hadn't before. It worked fine for me.

2) I had one instance of the game booting up with the screen aspect ratio going all doo-lally back to 4:3, even though I was in 1440p, though I reckon that was due to me installing another game at the same time.

That's all. It shows its age a little but it's still a fantastic game, and very playable on modern systems.

The original 360 version is the version I play. From what I’ve heard, the pc port suck and the remastered collection has a lot of issues.

when i first bought the entire collection i played original as one must do to experience it and remaster for achievements. i gotta say i love the original because what little remaster does change it takes away from the atmosphere of the game so i'll always say to anyone asking go with original. although the game isn't too long, like so many games today tend to be, so you could and frankly should play both.

I like the original because there is a naked body, remaster took it away from me
