What is the purpose of downloading the Chronicle Edition DLC?

The DLC includes an updated, full official guide.

The patch will increase White Pearl's file size by 9MB.
Patch 2.10 adds a quest journal to White Pearl, along with other additions and changes.
This will be the last major update to the game.

• A Quest Journal has been implemented in the game.

*You will need to start the game from the beginning to obtain the Journal and for the quest objectives that come with the Journal to take effect.

The Quest Journal is a new, highly requested item that has finally been added to the game.
You will be able to track both the progress of the main story and side quests with the
Quest Journal, complete with new flavour text for all quests - in addition to all associated objectives as you unlock them and progress through the quest and the ability to see the rewards you will get from doing a quest.

The Quest Journal is obtained at the start of the game and can be accessed from your
Inventory, Key Items menu. To scroll down on the quest description and objective window, select the quest in the menu and use the analog stick/arrow keys.


The Quest Journal is accessible in your Inventory -> Key Items menu. It's given to you at the start of the game.

This is a basic example of a quest. Main story quests and side quests have different icons and colour separating them apart.

A lot of review feedback detailed that White Pearl's story was hard to follow, so I used this opportunity to make a synopsis for when a lot of stuff does happen in the main story, and there is perspective switching.

This is one last example of a main story quest. Some objectives only appear as you go through them. The idea is that you'll check the journal if you're lost or confused on what is happening, or if you would just like to read more.

You expect some smaller QOL text changes as well, like the implementation of colours on equipment values.
For the quest journal to work properly, you'll have to restart your game, so I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

• All characters in the game can now equip up to two separate accessories through the addition of a second accessory slot.

Changes to accommodate a second accessory slot:

• Accessories are no longer optimised for the character's gear when pressing the "Eq. Priority Stats" button in the Character Equipment menu.
  
• The programming of the equip menu has been slightly adjusted:
  - The game will now more clearly display empty equipment slots
  - The game now display MaximumHP and MaximumMP in the "Current Stats and Differences" board.
  - To compromise for the aforementioned change, the name of the character you are equipping, which is displayed in the "Current Stats and Differences" board, is now removed.
  - A scroll option has been added in the equipment menu, for accessing the new slot.

*The addition of the second accessory slot is effective throughout the game regardless of where you have saved and you will have no need to start the game from the beginning.

*You can equip any and all types of accessories that the character can use in the Accessory 2 slot, just like the one slot you had before the 2.10 patch.

• Colour tones have been added on all armour and weapon tooltips to better display the advantages and disadvantages of each item.
  
  
• Critical hits are now accompanied by a "CRITICAL!" pop-up above the damage indicator in addition to the already animated text.

Equipment Adjustments
Glided Fisticuffs
- Now increases DEF by 10.

Four Leaf Clover
- Now increases ATK and AGI by 5.

Dialogue Adjustments
In certain scenes, some spelling errors have been corrected and flow of certain dialogue is corrected to sound better.

Additional dialogue has been added to the scene while under the second objective of the main story quest "Rough and Tumble".

Event Adjustments

- The programming and flags of several events in the game have been adjusted with the addition of a Quest Journal, in order to ensure compatibility with all quests and their associated objectives.

When selecting U'vharr's Perspective in Chapter 10...
- Now tells the user: "This quest covers main story events happening after "Picking Up the Pieces".

When selecting Pearlto's Perspective in Chapter 10...
- Now tells the user: "This quest covers main story events happening
after "What Bandits Do Best".

Battle Encounter Adjustments

Battle encounters of "A Slimy Situation" side quest, the Church of Divinia cellar side quest.
- You can no longer get K.Oed in these fights.

Boss fight of "A Slimy Situation" side quest, the Church of Divinia cellar side quest.
- You can no longer get K.Oed in this fight.

Enemy Adjustments

- EXP received increased from 5 to 18.

Quest Adjustments

- You now only need to kill 4 slimes to pass instead of 8.

Chest at top: Reward adjusted 25G to 150G.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I updated the news page, and I'd just like to update it for posterity's sake in-case anyone still uses this for the main source of information.

This blog post will cover NEW news regarding Fabrication, the next game in the Chronicles of Ottrea series, that has not been covered anywhere else.

Fabrication is set to release at the end of 2020 / early 2021!

Previously, I was really set on releasing the game at the end of 2020 as part of White Pearl's 3rd anniversary but, the sound team needs to catch up with everything! And I would really like the extra time to play-test the game and turn it inside out. Especially looking at White Pearl... a big problem upon release was bugs and I really don't want something like that repeated again, so I want to do it right. So I am aiming for this release window. A more exact date will be revealed soon, but you don't have long to wait anymore, so don't worry!

Another announcement... the Steam page is coming soon! Due to COVID19, page and build reviews are taking a lot longer than expected. Which is no problem really... because I've been busy making the game. And I actually haven't even bothered to send in my request for submission yet (laughs).


If you've played White Pearl, the best way I can describe Fabrication is that the game is basically that... but improved and better to play!

Main Features of Fabrication:

- The story of the game takes place before the events of White Pearl
- 15-20 hours of playtime
- I'll be implementing lots more achievements this time, so I want interested players to aim for them!
- There's a Quest Log. Yep... that's a main feature. Because it was so highly requested from White Pearl.
- Over 20 side-quests and activities in total to complete in addition to the engaging story
- Crafting system
- Fishing system
- Trading system
- Reputation, relationship and fame system*

* More detail on these mechanics will be revealed in either the store page or as you play the actual game to understand how they work.

I have been developing Fabrication, the next game in the Chronicles of Ottrea series, for quite a while now. I have reached a stage where I want to release the game for public testing.

I've also released some screenshots of Fabrication on my Twitter, showcasing the story and gameplay. I am making Fabrication to stand apart from White Pearl in it's own unique way. Even though the stories are connected, the game can be enjoyed as a standalone experience. This game will also feature a continuation to White Pearl's story and characters.
My aim for this game is to improve on the aspects that received criticism from White Pearl while challenging myself to make something new.

Today it's been 1 year and 5 months since White Pearl released, and a lot has changed to the game since then.
Despite that, behind the scenes, I've been working on the game's prequel, Fabrication, which is still just an extra hobby ontop of everything else.

Skippable Cutscenes

Most cutscenes can now be skipped by pressing LB (gamepad) / S (keyboard) during the event. Completion of the game is not required to skip cutscenes.

* Because of this change, permanent changes to events have been added, so it will be required to create a new game save file in order to play through the game and make use of this.

Crafting System Extension: Reinforcement of Shields and Bucklers

By reinforcing shields and bucklers, you increase their main parameters. However, you are also able to add additional effects to them using Aura Essence.

Trading System Extension: Aura Essence

A new system has been added to trading: exchanging certain Aura Essence for Aura Essence - Fire and Ice.

The system is available once crafting is unlocked, and is intended for use in conjunction with the newly added crafting feature.

• The optimisation of the game has improved, thereby reducing/eliminating lag in several instances. 2.0 brings a smoother experience to White Pearl!
  
  
• Many more changes are present in Patch 2.0 Part I which greatly affect new players' experience - making it, overall, an easier and more enjoyable game with greater depth.
  
  
• It is advised for existing players to wait until Fabrication releases before re-entering the world of Ottrea - as those products will content suitable to long-time players; being a new game within the White Pearl universe.
