ABANDONED GAME.SAD

This game is a gem. Unfortunately it's a gem that was swallowed by the game industry, crapped out and flushed into the sewer of brilliant but unfinished games, and got stuck in a pile of crap clogging a drainpipe.
It has been abandoned for years, but we're still playing it when we need some mindless fun. The core gameplay is more than decent, and you can see glimmers of what could have been. It's the kind of game that would shine if you'd clean it up and slowly polish it into a brilliant, prismatic gem outshining other similiar dwarf fortress style titles.
It really needs to be picked up by a studio that would commit to a long-haul style of development with gradual improvements and evolution and expansion of mechanics, art, gameplay, and story (which it sadly lacks).
Is it worth it's price in the current state? Probably not.
Is it worth it whenever it's discounted? Definitely.
