Unreal Engine 5
I read that they are upgrading Firmament to Unreal Engine 5 for the PS VR2 release (fall 2024). I'm wondering if this engine upgrade will also be coming to PC, and if it will include any performance or visual improvements.

I hope :)
Or a fix for the broken shadows in vr...
I just bought the game. I didn't know this. Should I wait to play it if they're going to push a big update?

I'm definitely waiting... but I wouldn't hold my breath, I only read about it on another thread, it may just be a rumor!

well, I'll put it on the shelf for now and wait a fyear to give it a go, or at least until they patch the shadows. if by then they don't announce UE5, I'll give the game my one playthrough. As awesome as cyan games are, they're not replayable (to me)

Fingers crossed, I guess. I know the feeling, which is why I'm also hoping on a solution to at least the shadow issues, playing on low is very immersion breaking.

One can hope, but please do keep breathing -- the recent Riven remake has the same issue with dynamic shadows.

It's upgraded to UE5
omg thanks for letting me know! awesome!
This will be the first thing I play when I buy a new VR headset this summer.
I sold my quest pro recently :)
Yeah, really hyped now ;)
Enjoy, everyone, and thanks devs for the update!
Anyone else experiencing terrible performance in VR on WMR devices since Cyan moved it to UE5? I had really no problems at all with the older Unreal engine. Kinda frustrating because I hadn't played the game for quite awhile so I decided to reinstall and play through again. II was excited to see that there was a huge update to the game which was supposed to make it a lot better for all (including the soon to be DOA Windows Mixed Reality devices) It instead has made the game unplayable. I did switch the OpenXR runtime to SteamVR from Windows Mixed Reality because the game was very jittery. It helped to smooth it out but now I have a wicked drift to the right when playing. Tried adjusting the thumbstick deadzone with no luck. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm not ready for a new HMD just yet...especially when my current one worked fine before the update

Which WMR HMD are you using?
