Rolling Line

Tutorials - Feedback
I know this is probably me and old age and what not, but as someone entirely new to the game, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how to swap ends on curved track and on switches. I have looked, and I could still have overlooked it, but there is no place that clearly states HOLD LMB and use Q and E to swap ends on a track section, including the third party tutorials I watched.

There are references to Q and E, but no one anywhere (I could find) says, 'press Q or E to change ends while holding LMB.' I guess it is supposed to be obvious, but I will admit it took me more than 5 hours in game to finally work out what I was supposed to do (which is a testament to how much I wanted to play this game).

As I said, I'm probably the idiot here, but being more obvious about this mechanic might save others some frustration. It is probably also attributable to this being designed as a VR game first with the PC controls being addressed secondarily.

Not a complaint, I have been enjoying the game once I worked that out, but only feedback about how the tutorial presents information. Thanks for your interest.

There is some context-help text in the bottom left corner (above the inventory) which shows what keys do (based on what you are currently holding/doing).
E.g. if you are placing track (holding left mouse) the context help message will change to show the Q & E keys.
Is this text visible for you?
Though yes the game is in dire need of more in-game tutorials, like for track placement and map editing features. I am certainly hoping to spend more time adding better tutorials
Yes, those letters are visible WHILE you are pressing LMB. They change to something else after. If you are clicking, instead of clicking-and-holding as you need to, you will only see the Q & E for the instant you click. The context only lasts as long as you are pressing the LMB. Most everything is self-evident, especially if this isn't one's first construction sim, but pieces of track and placement is not exactly standard fare rubberstamp construction. I have been enjoying the game otherwise.

I appreciate all the work you and many other players have put into expanding the resources for this game. I hope I will eventually create a layout that is worth uploading.
