I collected a bunch of items, but how can I equip them? I can scroll through the items list gallery but I don't see any option to use or equip that item. In the game I can only switch between the default sword and a crossbow.

By final bosses I mean Lasley and Kaminela and by "like that" I mean "kinda BS". I've hit a progression wall where I just can't seem to cinch a W unless I get lucky and assemble some wildly broken build like the Mjolnir set. Doesn't seem to matter if I invest in defensive stats, go glass cannon, ranged vs. melee, it's just not apparent why I'm struggling this much. Are you intended to Aegis to get over the hump? That's the one thing I've avoided doing so I can keep a deathgrip on my vaulted item but that'...

I don't understand why I'm not getting it; do I have to stop at the final boss Kaminela instead of the final-final boss ? Is it 5 food or 4 and under? Very confusing and any insight would be appreciated.
