Stuck at top of elevator

I get to the elevator and I get stuck and there are a few errors in console...

thanks for going to the trouble of posting the image, two things standout in the error list. first off is the errors are exactly the same as mine at the point of closing the elevator door after the battle/puzzle of getting the power cord down from the gangway above the warehouse floor. second to that is you appear to have restarted from a saved game. nothing unusual about that accept that if you are trying to play from a saved game that has a glitch in it- well, might be an idea to restart the game again from the start and try not die in the game up to the elevator point. It would be interesting to see if you get stuck at the same point after that or after reinstalling it. If that happens the chances are the file package that you used is faulty and you may end up getting stuck somewhere in the game anyway. I still have the my zip file for the game. i'm not sure what the rules are here posting a zip for game. good luck! :)

press the crt+prt sc button while in the game. open the paint program and crt+v buttons to paste the pic and save the image. then drag and drop the image file here into your post. or SV_cheats 1 and "noclip" in the console ~

I believe this is a weird save state issue. I am unaware of how the game can get to this state, but I believe the doors are set to open when they reach the final point. The error is stating that the elevator has not reached the final point, and therefore the doors cannot open. I am unsure of how to get the game into this state.

I've been away awhile, so I haven't seen this happy ending. glad it all worked out. this a really polished game, I hope there will be more chapters soon. but umm. can't see that happening!!

Hey Shipseyk, thanks for replying back. Unfortunately, you are correct that there will not be any chapters anytime soon. I simply do not have the free time required to build another chapter, as much as I would love to.

I think I got the same problem if it's the elevator to the ground. I get stuck if I stand too close to the door side when the elevator is below. If I move to the other side (which becomes the door when your are up) then I don't stick to the elevator.

Thanks for the repro case. That is so strange. I thought I had set everything up to have a nice smooth transition here, but something has clearly gone awry.

I just got stuck on same elevator and had to load from previous save to continue. Now i did not get stuck but i lost all my weapons. Well i just took magnum off the table and noticed that there is no texture for the gun in my hands but it works. Killed some combine and got more weapons but no textures for them. Then i reached point where i need to use grenade to continue but nothing happens. I think because textures are unavailable it breaks the functionality of the grenade. At this point i felt like its going to be so buggy ride that i did not want to try anymore to fix things and closed the game. :/

Hey Ossixc, I am sorry to hear that you had a poor experience. I have noticed a few people run into the elevator issue, and I am unsure of why that is happening.

As for the missing textures, and the weapons not working, that is even more scary. Do you have Half-Life2: Episode 2 installed? I am also curious if you verified your cache on both HL2:EP2 and YearLongAlarm, if that would fix it.

Again, I am really sorry about the poor experience.

Validated both now. Year long alarm had 5 failed files (around 95kb). I hope that fixes it.. No time to test right now.

No worries. If you play through it again let me know if that fixes your experience. I hope that fixes the combine and weapon issues at the very least. The elevator is a level transition issue, and would need an update to fix.
