Asking for advice
Yo. I love "Tales of" games since forever, but im also a bit obsessive with achievements and having a full experience (secrets, skits, etc). Will I miss too much if I do a blind run? (no guides). I played this game before but didnt finish (played like 30hrs or something), so its like a semi 2nd run.

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance

Thanks for your input, but it seems like you've misunderstood the spirit of my question. I'm fully aware that video game achievements don’t have a real-life impact—it's a hobby, just like any other. People can enjoy games for different reasons, and for me, getting all the achievements and experiencing everything a game has to offer is just part of the fun.

As for the OCD bit, I appreciate the diagnosis, but I’ll stick to collecting video game achievements over unsolicited medical advice. It’s more fun, and I’m pretty sure there’s no DLC for that.

But seriously, gaming is about enjoyment, so if you don’t have anything to add about the game itself, maybe just stick to lurking. Cheers!

To answer your question: Yes, you can miss achievements and other stuffs ingame. A LOT. If you focus only maingame story without sidequest, extra dungeons, extra dialogues, getting all items/equipments etc you wouldve been around 15-20% by the time you reach the final boss.

A guide might be helpful. Although it is "possible" to do without a guide. However doing without a guide can be very tedious as you have to backtrack a lot after almost every event just to make sure nothing to miss at all.

Long story short if you really plan to do 100% the game use a guide. It saves more time.

My medical advice is called “common sense”. Keep collecting pixels… literal pixels 🤣 achiever

Wow, thanks for the groundbreaking 'common sense' advice! I’ll stick to collecting my ‘pixels,’ since it’s a lot more fun than collecting whatever it is you’re trying to achieve by trolling people online. At least I get joy out of my hobby, while you're just here proving how little you have going on.

But hey, if being a keyboard warrior is your greatest achievement, who am I to judge? Keep at it—you’re clearly very dedicated.

I used a guide my first playthrough and it took me 3 games total to unlock all the stuffz. I got to enjoy the story and content even with the guide, and there's a little part of me that wished I could've started the first playthrough blind without worrying if I'm missing something or referring at the guide every time I enter a new area.

I say go blind if you want to play the game 4 times but enjoy the story fully the first time through, or follow the guide which will take about 3 playthroughs.

Since you're planning to play the game without spoilers and as this game has missable sidequests, then I'd recommend taking a look at this guide:
https://hueyyeng.github.io/VesperiaGuide/missables_spoiler_free/

The only spoilers in there are location and character names, also if party members join for good:
I've replaced any potential plot reference with generic names. To keep you guessing, I also removed the type of rewards from completing a sidequest.

The name of the locations and playable characters are left intact as they are the core feature of the game. If you treat it as spoiler, that is on you.

^I agree with the above. I was in the same boat as OP where I wanted 100% and didn't want spoilers. That guide did nicely. Because you will definitely miss stuff if you don't use that guide...some of it is very obscure.

Of course you will probably want two more replays (they're short) for all the achievements so you may be able to use those replays to get stuff you missed. Concerning the replays, don't be scared of the time...if you avoid most fights, you can do the speedrun within 4 hours and then do the low-level run within maybe an hour and a half. Not as big a grind as they seem.
