Damage formula for battles.
No matter how I searched the Internet, no matter how I tried to find it on the forum (I scrolled through half of all the pages) I haven't found a discussion anywhere that is important to me.

How do CTH and Defense stats work for units?

CTH is a chance to kill the enemy. Admit it.
But then is it a chance to kill one enemy in an enemy squad, or is it a chance for each of the units in their squad to deliver a fatal blow?
What does the CTH of 30% mean?
That one unit will die with this chance after the attack, or that each model participating in the battle with this chance will kill the enemy model?

And the second question.

Logically, defense is the stat antipode for CTH.
But why is it then much larger than CTH?
Be some units it can reach 150.
This means that this stat is not a percentage value like CTH.
So how do these stats interact with each other?

In short, tell me how the damage of one unit is calculated correctly for another.
Very much needed to create a mod.

Emmm...
Not even one player is not know damage formula or just how defence and CTH work?
Rly?!))
It's rly magic by some kind.

There is no explanation on this topic anywhere.
Do the developers themselves not know and this game is played purely by eye?
How can anyone choose from the troops just by focusing on the numbers, not understanding what they mean?

I need some tips, Ridler!

The devs gave a great answer on trade stuff a couple days ago, I'm sure if one see's this post they can help you out!
The only last that i have now - is hope!
Are there is anyone who know "the TRUTH of this world"?!
Developers, maybe it's you turn to tall the TRUTH?

Again, just to pop up the thread.
We need to know the TRUTH!
This would indeed be interesting, but to be honest I went with a simple heuristic so far: Higher values of positively connoted measures (defense, attack, resilience) are better. That is well enough to make sufficient comparisons between units.

Did you know that CTH and defense are fundamentally different in their essence values? CTH is a percentage value. Defense - no.
Can you explain to me how effective two melee squads are in comparison with each other. Let one have CTH 30 and defense 100, and the other have CTH 16 and defense 150.
Which is more effective in fight one on one?
I'm won giveup!
Give to us red tabl...The TRUTH!

Got a mouse in your pocket? Otherwise, there seems to be a remarkable lack of interest aside from your multiple posts.... :steamfacepalm:

I'm also interested in the underlying formula.
If you don't like the fact that someone is interested in this, then just ignore the thread instead of ranting here.
I stand by my observation as the OP posted 9 times to 3 for all others prior to my post.

A simplified version would be ...

Chance to kill = CTH/(100+Defense)
