Low performance (40 fps) with Nvidia RTX 4070 Super
Hello all,

As the title says, I have been getting abysmal performance with my RTX 4070 Super that I purchased in April. I can't keep 60 fps for 1080p on normal settings. I've updated my bios, reset my cmos, uninstalled afterburner, updated my drivers, made sure that my power supply was sufficient, and pretty much everything else short of doing a clean install of Windows. No guides (the ones complaining of "only" 170 fps on max settings at 4k) have helped me out whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Naah that is not the issue ...

It is because you have locked the fps at 60 fps .. try change the refresh rate to 0 in the consol and then toggle vsync off

Try see if that dont help, if not then you need to go into your graphic card settings and set the screen refreshrate to the highest or toggle Vsync off ..

But to be honest, then you wont see or feel anything from 60 to 500 fps if you are not fast enough yourself ..

only 1% of the playerbase would be able to see and feel anything because their eyes are faster than 60 fps wich is around 16 ms .. the fastest humans on the planet can see and react within 24 ms, but for the most it will be around 100 to 300 ms .. and 60 fps is 1 fps every 16 ms .. get my point of view ?

the only thing faster fps does is to make the picture look more fluid and clean for your eyes

If a human can see more than 1100+ fps, then you can dodge bullets like in matrix that are subsonic xD

dragonflies is the only living animal on the planet that can see and react to 300 fps

Are you faster than a cat ? its 100 fps

All these claims were debunked years ago. Why people keep spamming this nonsense is beyond me. First of all, human eye is not a camera; it doesn't perceive movement or other information frames per second. :steamfacepalm:

Huh? All what claims?
Step 1 never listen to maxe

But fr it sounds like maybe the pci slot is broken or something like that unless you are severely bottle necked by your cpu

have you benchmarked your gpu with software e.g 3dmark to make sure its working ok ?
You kind of answered your own question when saying "else short of doing a clean install of Windows". Often times if its not related to hardware, than there is some software issue and can be related how windows is running and what is on it. You could do another Windows install on another SSD just to test out this issue.

Are you claiming you cannot see difference between for example 60 fps and 144 fps ?

The difference can be seen by anyone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKjI4CYThjg

You gotta take what maxe says with a grain of salt. He's about as delusional as they get around here

Some cheaters just cant stop trying to ruin peoples fun even outside the game, they just keep going. The trustworthyness of theese individuals are below zero, and the reason why people will block/mute them.

Hey man, I'm just light-years better than you. But thanks for creeping on me a week back
ey, having the same issue, with my RX 6600, i used to have 200-250 fps, but now i am having fps drop to 70, which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird.
My thoughts are that the reason is because of the cs update where they included train to the game, everytime they make this kind of updates the game just get broken and you might experience these fps drops, it happened the same when they included panorama and cache 2 or 3 years ago.
So, in conclussion, dont worry just give it some time till Valve realese an update fixing this problems.
i have friends with worsth graphic cards than ours and having a good perfomance (200 fps or above).

You were right. Fresh install of windows and I'm now consistently around 140. Thank you very much :)
