same. was looking forward to playing it. i tried to launch it from the steam folder and i get a message: "The program can't start up because api-ms-win-crt-string-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." i've reinstalled it two times now and it still wont work.

Seriously don't know what to do. I've also installed 3 total times verified my files and switched to window mode, wtf?

Go here and download the Visual C++ 2015 Redist: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53840. For some reason when you install the game, it only installs the 2013 version, but needs files from the 2015 version.

already use that but still cant past the launcher

I am having the same issue it's pretty frustrating, launcher comes up, I press play, window opens then it freezes and says its stopped working... I've reinstalled already as well

Not to mention the splash screen takes more than 15 minutes to load the black screen which THEN crashes the game completely. I haven't been able to play since I installed it this evening

exactly.. no way I tried around this worked

Something similar was happening to me earlier. Even after disabling the game launcher, the game launcher would load when I tried to start the game through Steam. When I clicked Play, it would tell me my game crashed.

What I had to do was Verify integrity of game files via Steam. It told me I had to replace one file. I was able to load the game normally afterwards.

I wish it were that easy but I verified the game twice now
