Periodic black screen on Reverb G2
As above. Unplayable because screen goes black every few minutes for about 20 seconds or so on my HP reverb G2.

Also, won't boot when I'm using WMR headset with knuckles. Says to "exit and deal with a steamvr error" - where there actually is no error.

Works fine on my Vive Pro with knuckles.

Thank you for letting us know, and sorry to hear you have been dealing with this.

I have a few questions while I pass this along to the devs: Are you on the most recent update of the game? Let me know if you have any other peripherals plugged in. Are your drivers up to date?

Please send your output log our way at owlchemysupport@google.com

If you installed Vacation Simulator to the default location, that log will be located here:

C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\Owlchemy Labs\Vacation Simulator\output_log.txt

OR

%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Owlchemy Labs\Vacation Simulator\output_log.txt

Let us know!
Hi, thanks for your quick response.

The problem is actually hardware. It began in other games too. I have a replacement headset on its way.

Oh, gotcha! I just got done talking with our team and they mentioned that the combo of the controllers and the knuckles might be causing the issue. If the problem persists please email us at owlchemysupport@google.com.
Same here. Using Win 10, GTX Titan X (maxwell) and the original controllers that come with the HP Reverb G2. Please help. I literally bought the whole setup for this one game for my 6 year old daughter. She hid it well because she is sweet but she was really disappointed.

All my drivers and software are up to date. It will play for a random amount of time. Typically 20 min or less, then just crash.

Thank you!
I had 2 issues with G2 black screen that you may resolve in the following ways:

1) There is a problem with volume and power distribution in all G2s. If the volume is over 85% then when a basey tone comes over the headset, you get black screens. Make sure the volume is set to about 80 - 85%

2) My headset suddenly started giving me black screens when running at 90hz. I've contacted HP and organised a replacement (which may take a couple months). In the meantime I'm running it at 60hz. Perhaps give this a go - it may be a generic fault.
To both the Developer and DAN-di-WARhol,

Thank you very much! Your quick response means a lot to me since my daughter is involved. Whatever happens, your time and effort means a lot to me.

Sadly, I'm already playing at 60hz as the first version of the GTX Titan X is not strong enough to run games at 90hz. I heard the upgraded version sold months after I paid 1500.00 for my card can...but not reliably. If the world ever returns to normal, I will update to a 3080 RTX or better. I'm guessing that will be months at best.

The volume tip is great to know! I have not heard this before. Thank you! I guess the only real volume setting for sound in the Windows 10 volume setting. Correct? There is no secondary slider within Windows Mixed Reality or SteamVR? Let me know if this is wrong. I'm a big time noob in the VR world.

Thank you very much! I'm hoping to work out the glitches this week so I can see my beautiful angels legitimate big smile instead of the false one put on for show because she doesn't want her Daddy to feel bad. Is she not the greatest?

Thanks guys!
Hi Firestorm,

60hz isn't the same as 60fps. Your headset will be set to 90hz by default, and will perhaps be delivering less FPS as a result of poor GPU performance. In Mixed Reality Portal, click the three dots. Click settings. Click Headset Display. Scroll down. On "adjust Frame Rate" choose 60hz. Give it a try and see if it changes the problem. You might get a bit of flickering on bright colours, but it should work just fine. If that is the problem, contact HP and get a replacement. The headset should be running at 90hz without black screens.

For sound, open Steamvr overlay with the raised button. The volume should be on the bottom right. Set this to 85% or lower. Again, see if this helps.
