How do you get the different endings?

First time playing the game. As soon as I create a new game and get into the actual world, my character immediately runs to the left, into a wall, and gets stuck there. I cannot make the character do anything else. I can however still enter into the menu and the menus behave fine. Its only when I am controlling my character that this seems to be present. I am using windows 10, and the bug happens with just the keyboard and also with a controller plugged in. The bug persists through quitting and restarting...

At the very beginning, after the first platform which breaks when you enter the first "cave" the jump button no longer works at all. tried restart, rebinding nothing works...

When going onto the keybindings in the menu, nothing is highlighted I can't move around with the arrow keys anymore neither enter nor escape work so I have to alt f4 because I am stuck at the screen and can't rebind anything.

I picked up the bombs upgrade, played for a while and it functioned perfectly. Then I came back to the game, and the bomb trigger button no longer does anything, even though it still works on keyboard. Something else I noticed, the B button prompt no longer shows up when I stand in front of doors, it's just an up arrow now. Movement/jumping/menu navigation all work fine with the controller..
