Adam Flatau is the kind of guy who doesn't pull any punches; he's VERY unforgiving with his games, and that's what I love about him! Gameplay mechanics are barely explained, leaving it up to the player to figure most of them out. However, to be fair, I do use guides, and I recommend you do the same if you at least want to know what to expect, BUT if you're the type of player who prefers to (or enjoys to) go at it blind, then more power to you!

I still have yet to beat this game, but I still have plenty of motivation left in me; just be sure to take breaks after each session if you don't want the tedium and repetitiveness of the game to get to you. Matter of fact, I recommend playing in short bursts (usually around 2-4 hours depending on how far you are).

Oh, and one more thing: I strongly urge you to have a cheat sheet handy as there's a LOT to remember.
