Have you ever played Space Engineers and had a vision of a truly spectacular ship, maybe you were inspired by ships of Star Citizen or Star Wars or even Warhammer 40k. You put something together but the more you put it together the more blocky it got? Were you ever putting a big ship together and thought to yourself. "Man I wish I could use the small grid version of this block or something in between." You end up playing more of a puzzle game trying to fit blocks into blocks and sometimes forcing a square peg into a round hole situation. Then by the time you're done you take it out for a spin and start fighting other ships. The lag from the medium-large ships moving and getting destroyed cause you to yank hair out and you give up.

What if I told you that this game rectifies all those issues? That the only limit to this game is in the hands and creativity of the builder?

I've been following this game since like 2022(?) and today I decided to purchase it to support Francois cause this guy has made a real gem of a game. Now I may not have much time played but I've watched many videos and ship walkthroughs and the creative freedom this game has, compared to similar games like Space Engineers(SE), (which I love) is absolutely crazy.

There's so much you can do that is simply impossible in SE. Even just playing the tutorial, messing around with hatches, cockpit opening and closing, opening ramps and using elevators feel so much more intuitive and in some cases only possible in this game. Interiors aren't blocky messes due to the fact that you aren't restricted to one block size on a grid. Even exterior, as you might tell from the screenshots, can look so natural that you forget that the game is technically a voxel builder. You can stretch any block to any length(within reason), allowing true creative freedom.

Francois has truly done some black magic when it came to optimization because the size of the ships you can make in this game compared to SE without your game dying is truly spectacular. There are videos of these giant behemoths of ships with perfectly fine framerates, not even dips.

Now for those who are on the fence, like I was. Watch some videos of ship walkthroughs. There are even videos comparing the same ship made in both Starship and SE from popular properties. (The Starship ones are almost always a lot better). Watch some devlogs, even read some. You'll see a guy who has been dedicated to a game for 5 years. A guy that this is his passion project, his dream game. He wants nothing but the best for his game. I have no doubt Francois will deliver something truly great because he cares that much about it. If that still doesn't convince you, once survival comes out I believe that the game will be at a point that rivals similar games in the same space.

I have to endorse a passion project like this, I've been following the development of this game since it was Skywanderers and I am extremely impressed by all the work that a solo developer has put into it. While the game is still in early access it's received years of consistent and substantial support and there is absolutely $20 worth of content here. I'm sure I'll spend lots of time with the finished product.
