This game was amazing, really wish there was a second game, or a new IP designed similar to this one.

I recently purchased Darksiders Genesis from Epic. The game works fine but I started to notice that it "disappears with my save file". I went to the local folder where the files are stored and it is there, it is just not read by the game. Would anyone know how to resolve this issue? I'm posting here since I don't know another forum for the game...
