There are in-game achievements though.

I want Steam achievements! And lots of them!

Steam is already infested with spammed achievements that don't really involve any challenge in achieving them.
If you're going to add any, please make them more meaningful and global compared to the relatively easy and effortless ones in-game.

Examples:
- Beat the game
- Speedrun
- Beat the game using only your fists
- No saves
- 100% achivs in-game
- Defeat God
- Find all blue chests
- Find Easter eggs like the Porn mag.

These kind of achievements prolong the game's replay value by offering alternative approaches to new playthroughs, and also encouraging to discover and explore the entire content instead of just dropping it past the final boss.

please add achievements! the in game ones would transfer over well to steam

Actually, I would also like an achievement for directly level up shops on all cities. It's a neat little hidden mechanic that should be highlighted more

Adding Achievements would entice me to move it off my Wishlist and into my Library. Adding a ton of them (40+) would make it an immediate buy.
