We have just released the v0.119 update with point-and-click function for the motion controllers. Sorry for the delay, it was a lot more difficult than we had anticipated.

This patch also includes fixes for various virtual keyboard and motion controller bug that we missed in the previous build.

Currently there's an issue with our streaming function not streaming HD version of the videos for Youtube. That's due to an recent update on Youtube's end, we're looking to adjust our streaming functionality so that it plays the proper version of the video, should be done in a couple of days.

For users who have been experiencing CTD during start of the app. If it's due to a security prompt, simply accept the security prompt, restart the app afterwards and it should start fine next time once the security prompt stops showing up. For user's who just can't start the app no matter what, we have narrowed the crash issue down to our screen capturing function. So next thing we need to do is to scan and test that part of the code thoroughly and patch up any potential issues that we find. At the moment we're looking to release that crash patch.

Version 0.117 - VLC Player Plugin Update

Hi everyone,
virtual space development team here, we have just released our v0.117 update which contains VLC player plugin implementation. A big thanks to gmpreussner from Unreal and everyone who contributed to VLC player for making their work available to the public. This new plugin will enable a large number of media formats to be played by our player and no longer constrainted by unreal engine's internal media format limits.

Basically, most video files should work now, there's still encodings that's not supported yet, but we'll try to add support for those as we continue to improve and complete our app. Hope you guys will like this update, and it's a bit late, but Happy New Year :)

Virtual Space team here, we’ve just release our v0.115 update which implements the first version of our motion controller support along with a in app virtual keyboard. We are also now using Unreal 4.18 instead of 4.16, which provides our app with better performance improvements. We also fixed a bug with screen capture for oculus, so now Virtual Space should work with the latest oculus firmware, you shouldn’t see any weird screen layouts inside the app. Other bugs and crash issues are still being looked into, and any fix we have will be rolled out with the new updates.

It’s just a few sentences here but a lot of work for our tiny team, and sorry about the delay, we tried really hard to get this out before the holiday and even coded over the break, but didn't quite make it. Anyways wish everyone a Happy New Year! Please look forward to our future updates!

Virtual Space Dev team here, just wanted to give you guys an update on what's going on with our development and progress.

First one is regarding our crash, yes the issue both you and us having been pulling our hair out over for the past month or so with. It's a mix bag of different crashes, we identified some and patched them; found some work around and posted in the FAQ section for others; and there's more that we still don't know how or why it happened, but we're working hard on trying to replicate and fix them. A big thanks for all of our users who reached out to us with support, information and even their own work around for the crashes. Your help and support is much appreciated!

Regarding our feature updates, we have a few feature request from users in addition to what's on our road-map. VR controller support will be added next, with UI revamp following after that. We're thinking of adding dynamic lighting for theater mode as requested by a few users, but due to the nature of how we built the theater, it's a bit tricky to do. We're also looking to update to Unreal Engine 4.18 or 4.19 if it comes out before the end of the year. The updated engine will give a nice boost to our video playback performance and should fix some of the crash issues as well. Expansion to the list of video websites that we support VR Smart Streaming is underway. A link will be posted soon with a list of websites that we currently support. These are the update for now, major feature updates like splitting up the windows into their own space/panels and such are still in the design stage, so I won't talk about it here.

Finally about our upcoming patches, we've made a bunch of small patches to fix/improve our functionalities. There's currently some issues with the mouse and some users reported crash issues with multi-monitor setup, so we're looking into patching those up in the upcoming few days.

This is Virtual Space development team, thank you all very much for submitting the crash reports. Currently we're having some trouble replicating the crash here at our office, it will be a great help in resolving this issue if you can assist us a bit further. For our users who are experiencing the crashing issue, if you have some time and don't mind helping us out, please test out our debug build below. All you have to do is unzip the files inside and run the VirtualSpace.exe file. This build contains only our screen capturing function with no control window. All you have to do is let us know if this crashes on startup like our current version for you or not. And once you're in the app, you can use the F4 key to bring the screen directly in front of you. Thank you very much for you time and help, we really appreciated it!

If the app successfuly opened, you should see our 3D environment with a screen looks kind of weird. It's normal, just alt-tab to another active window and you should see that the screen capturing is working.

Hi everyone, we just release an crash report update patch today. This patch will include a crash reporter that will pin point what's causing crashing issues for all of our users who are currently experiencing this problem. Please use the "Send" button to send the crash report to us if Virtual Space happen to crash for you. Sorry for all of you guys who are affected by this, we're working hard to resolve this. Expect frequent patches coming in the next two weeks as we focus our efforts to get all of the crashing issues resolved. Thank you for all of your support so far!

Hey guys, we just release our latest update. We have correct some bugs which cause the app to crash on when clicking any button on the menu. In addition, we have added a smart streaming feature which enable you to directly watch video from the browser now, no copying of URL require now, To use this feature, simply navigate to the youtube video, then press F2 or click on the smart streaming. In addition, we have added a few “other" website into list of our supporting website for 360 video streaming. Try it out and let me know what you guys think. Again, any feedback will be really appreciated.

We just release our 10/24/17 update. With this update, we were able to made a big improvement on FPS (running at 90 FPS with most of games). Also we made a patch to the Menu crashing issue which some of you experienced. So the app should be pretty stable now. Virtual Space is officially available on steam for free now. We have successfully added the youtube 360 video streaming capababiliy. Currently you need to copy the URL from Youtube in order to stream the video directly. There is no download needed so no wait.

We are also working on the following features and expect to update the app roughly around one week from today (10/16/2017).
1. Huge performance boost (Should be able to run any game at 90 fps)
2. One click streaming from Youtube (no need to copy the URL anymore, just open the video and click one button/shortcut key)
