Set resolution for ultrawide monitor?
I feel like when I first started the game, it filled the whole screen. However, the resolution in the options was 1920x1080 (my monitor is 3440x1440), so I cycled through some of the other options, which no longer fit the screen and have black bars on the side. Now I can't get it back to my monitor's native resolution. I looked through the game files in steamapps/common as well as AppData, although I couldn't find where the resolution is saved. Anybody have any ideas?

*THE FOLLOWING CAN SCREW UP YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU DO IT WRONG DONT BLAME ME IF IT BREAKS EVERYTHING*
Press Win+R
Type regedit in the box and click ok
Go to file, export and export your registry so you can go back
Go to Edit, Find, then search Donut County
keep searching till you find something like this - https://i.imgur.com/yn13Pu5.png (some of the settings might be different).
Check the address at the top (if you can't see it go to view then address bar) and make sure it says donut county

Now, you could probably just delete the entire donut county entry there, and this should force unity to start over with the defaults, but you could also click Screenmanager resolution height, click decimal, and then type in your desired height, and do the same for width. This will probably work.

uninstall and reinstall didn't work either.

Just a tip, download HotKey Resolution Changer, you can press a hotkey combination and it changes to whatever resolution you set.
Very useful for changing your 3440 X 1440 to 2560 X 1440 for games that don't support UW.

Thank you so much! That fixed it for me.

It's amazing this hasn't been fixed in all this time. I'm sitting here trying to change my registry to fix something that's broken in this game.

Changing the decimal resolution height and width didn't fix it for me, I had to delete the entire Donut County registry.

Uhm... I found something way easier...?

- Open the Library, then Right Click on the desired game and select Properties.
- Click on the Set Launch Options button located at the bottom.
- Write "-screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1080" (without quotes) in the text field, then click OK.

I also changed the resolution and couldn't change it back to ultrawide.

SOOP (comment #8) solution worked like a charm! Use the launch options described above

How odd. I had this same problem on Linux. To fix it, I edited the registry file within compatdata:

~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/702670/pfx/user.reg

I changed these lines after dword: to match my resolution:

"Screenmanager Resolution Height_h2627697771"=dword:1440
"Screenmanager Resolution Width_h182942802"=dword:3440

... although I don't think that was technically correct, because after starting the game, the file got changed to this. So I think I was supposed to use some kind of hex value.

"Screenmanager Resolution Height_h2627697771"=dword:000005a0
"Screenmanager Resolution Width_h182942802"=dword:00000d70

In any case, it no longer has black bars.
